As we approach the end of the year and the beginning of the holiday season, I would like to pause and reflect on Viega’s many blessings. Serving as CEO of Viega in North America since 2000, I can’t help but feel these blessings are as much mine as they are Viega’s.

I work every day with a team of highly skilled employees who, day in and day out, work with courage and passion. I am thankful for the many people who have dedicated their time over the years, and over generations, to help the company achieve its targets.

Sure, certain economic situations attempted to set us back. But with the dedication, courage and passion of all Viega employees, there was never a doubt that we could outperform the economy.

We are a team of talented people. Even with the depressed housing market, we were able to open a 439,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that largely supports a struggling market. Knowing that long-term thinking is more important than short-term goals, we don’t see roadblocks, we see opportunities. The housing market may not be what it once was, but the market will see a recovery. And when it does, we will be ready. We have a 439,000-square-foot facility to prove it.

And then there are our strong products and well-established brand. With 110 years of experience our customers demand superiority. With Viega, they get it. I am thankful for the loyal Viega customers who create the demand for our products. Not only do I work with a team of talented people, we sell our products to talented people.

So as I stand back from the day-to-day grind and reflect on 2009, I say with certainty Viega is blessed. And I look forward to the potential the New Year has to offer.

Please note that the Viega Corporate Headquarters will close December 25, 2009, and will reopen Monday, January 4, 2010. Inside Sales will be available to take your calls December 28 – 31, 2009, from 8 a.m. CST – 5 p.m. CST. The entire Viega team would like to wish you and your families a happy holiday season!
