Itisassumedthattheadditionalconnection hasalreadybeencreated.
Perform thefollowingstepstoconnecttoanotherserver:
1. On theOperations ConsoleConnectionwindow,selecttheconfigurationname thatyouwanttoconnect.
2. FromtheConnectionmenu,clickConnect.

3. IfyousetupyourlocalconsoleconfigurationtostartinUnattendedmode, do thefollowing:
a. VerifythattheConnectingConsolestatusdoesnotremainformorethana coupleofminutes. Ifitdoesnotchange,thereisaconnectionproblem.To finda possiblesolution,seeRemotecontrolpanelcablefailstostart.
b. VerifythatthestatusshowsPending Authorizationand thatSERVER appearsintheCurrentUserfield.Incomingcontrolrequestswillbe automaticallygranted.

Connect a remote console to a local console by modem
Connecting aremoteconsoletoalocalconsolewithremote supportallowsthe remote consoletocommunicatetoaserverthrough thelocalconsole. Theremote consoleusermust havedial-inauthorityatthelocalconsole.Youneedthe
authoritysotheoperatingsystem atthelocalconsoleallows thedial-in connection betweenthePCs.
Perform thefollowingstepstoconnecttheremoteconsoletothelocalconsole directlyattachedwith remoteaccessallowed:

Asan operatorofa localconsolewith remotesupport,youmusthandleincoming requestsforiSeries controlwhenyouhavecontrol.Grantingcontrolallowsanother user toworkwiththeserver.Refusingcontroldeniesarequestinguser accessto theserverandallows thecurrentuser tocontinueto havecontrol. Whenyougrant controltoanotheruser,your consolesession andtheremotecontrolpanelwindow close. Youremainconnected,andtheremotecontrolpanel,if installedand
configured atthelocalconsole,isavailableinread-onlymode.
