Ÿ PassPhrase – A passphrase simplifies the WEP encryption process by automatically generating the WEP encryption keys for the print server. This setting is only valid when the security mode is in “WEP(HEX)”.
Ÿ Key 1 to Key 4 – If the key length is 64-bit, enter 10-digit Hex values or 5-digit ASCII values as the encryption keys. For example: “0123456aef“ or “Guest“.
If the key length is 128-bit, enter 26-digit Hex values or 13-digit ASCII values as the encryption keys. For example:
“01234567890123456789abcdef“ or “administrator“.
WP A-s hare d ke y Securit y Mode:

r equires user s to se lect the adva nce d e ncr yption methods , i.e . TKI P or AES a nd e nter a set of s hared ke y.
Ÿ TKIP – TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) changes the temporal key every 10,000 packets. This insures much greater security than the standard WEP security.
Ÿ AES – AES has been developed to ensure the highest degree of security and authenticity for digital information and it is the most advanced solution defined by IEEE 802.11i for the security in the wireless network.

Af ter s ett ing the wire less LAN, unplu g the Ether net ca ble and r estart the pr int ser ver, t hen you ca n start to use the pr int s erve r t hrough wir e les s LAN. If the wire les s conf igurat ion does not wor k, ple ase plug the Ether ne t c a ble a ga in, re sta rt the pr int ser ve r and c onf igure t he pr int ser ve r through Ethernet until the wir e le ss LAN sett ings a re corr ect.

8. 4.2.2 Encr ypt ion
This pr int s er ver s upports WEP a nd WP A-P SK s ecur ity mode . I f you want to use WEP enc rypt ion to protect your wire less net wor k, you ha ve to se lect “ WEP”. If you want to us e WP A-P SK, you ha ve to se lec t “ WP A-sha red ke y” . The wire less s ecur ity settin g s hould be the sa me with other wire less de vices in the s a me net wor k.
WEP Secur it y Mode :
Ÿ Key Length – You can choose “bit” to use WEP with 64-bit key length encryption or choose “128-64-bit” to use WEP with 128-bit key length encryption. The longer key length can provide better security but worse transmission throughput.

Ÿ Key Format – You may select to use ASCII Characters (alphanumeric format) or Hexadecimal digits (in the "A-F",
"a-f" and "0-9" range) to be the WEP Key.
Ÿ PassPhrase – A passphrase simplifies the WEP encryption process by automatically generating the WEP encryption keys for the print server.
Ÿ Default Key – Select one of the four keys to encrypt your data.
Only the key you select it in the “Default key” will take effect.
Ÿ Key 1 – Key 4 – The WEP keys are used to encrypt data transmitted within the wireless network. Fill the text box by following the rules below.
