Introduction

This catalogue of documents lists the COM

Docu-ments of the Commission of the European

Commu-nities, the Reports of the European Parliament and

the Opinions and Reports of the Economic and Social

Committee prepared during the reference period by

the Office for Official Publications of the European

Communities for distribution to the public on paper

and microfiche.

Frequency and cumulation

It is intended that catalogues of the present type will

appear monthly. Cumulative catalogues will be

published during and at the end of each year. They

will contain alphabetical and numerical indexes, as

well as classified indexes.

This version of the catalogue takes account only of

documents of which English language texts have

been prepared. There are parallel catalogues

cover-ing documents in each of the eight other official

languages of the European Community.

Subscription system

An attractive system of selective subscriptions is on

offer for the paper versions of the three series of

documents covered by this catalogue either

indi-vidually or in combination.

Presentation

Documents are listed in numerical order within each

document type under the nineteen main headings of

a classification based on that used for the

Directory of

Community legislation in force.

Microfiche subscriptions are also available, but only

for entire series, either individually or in combination.

More information can be obtained from the sales

offices whose addresses are given on the back cover.

In this Classified Index there is one single entry for

each document, showing

inter alia

its number, title,

date of adoption by the institution concerned, ISBN

and catalogue number followed finally by the

micro-fiche reference(s) for the version of the document in

that form.

TRAINING FOR EVERYONE

A guide to the planning of innovative training and employment projects for unemployed young

people in the European Community

The objective of 'training for everyone' calls for numerous political initiatives to be taken at all

decision-making levels in order that, in particular, disadvantaged young people may be given

an opportunity in working and adult life.

The present guide is the most important result of a project which ran from 1983 to 1986 on the

'training of young people in new forms of employment'. The aim of this project was to investi

gate whether disadvantaged young people could be given special help through innovative trai

ning and employment initiatives and to assess that experiences from such initiatives could be

transferred to the traditional system of vocational training.

The guide is intended as a planning, organizational and implementation aid for political deci

sion-makers and organizers.

Section A contains a number of general comments on the conceptual development of such

projects.

Section Β concentrates on the presentation and analysis of existing innovative approaches to

the training and employment of young people.

Section C proposes guidelines for planning and implementing training and employment pro

jects.

The annex contains an overview of individual exemplary projects in the European Community

and concludes with information on institutions, projects and contacts.
