: Nursing

articulation

With the approval of the Nursing Program changes at Montana Tech the request for an articulation

with the other campuses in MUS was requested. Attached please find the articulation within the

general education.

The intake into clinicals for the ASN occurs in January of each year. Normally 40 students are

accepted. Acceptance is based on the GPA in the coursework of Introduction to Nursing, General

Psychology, Anatomy and Physiology I, Introduction to General Chemistry, and English

Composition. In addition Algebra will be included in subsequent years. Articulation of these

courses is included in the tables that follow.

Admittance into the BSN completion program requires that a student possess a valid RN license

and have met the ASN general education requirements. This validates prior learning and enables

the students to work under their own licensure.

Throughout the state, nursing coursework in the current AAS PN program is block transferred.

Please note that the campus agreed to convert the AASPN to the certificate level. Those changes

will be brought to the OCHE in preparation for the July BOR meeting.

Occasionally a prospective nursing student seeks credit for nursing coursework at the RN level.

The courses are individually articulated on a case-by-case basis from RN level coursework. This

past year students seeking admittance into the RN program have requested consideration of their

LPN coursework from other campuses. The most frequently transferred coursework is at the

fundamentals level. The student provides a syllabus from the course and the instructor and

director of nursing determines the acceptance.
