Greek economy shows optimistic signs of growth. After the successful implementation of the bailout program and its terms, Greece has once again started to experience positive economic growth, which according to the IMF and Eurostat reached 1.9% GDP growth in the years 2018 and 2019. Although in 2020 the recession is expected to reach 10%, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the IMF estimates that in 2021 economic growth in Greece will reach 5.1%.

In addition, the country has made a huge fiscal adjust- ment and adopted a promising long-term sustainable growth strategy.

In 2018 Greece’s unemployment rate, the highest in the European Union, has dropped below 20% for the first time in seven years.
