Inserting and Formatting SmartArt Hands On Activity 4.3
What You Will Do Terry Blessing, president of First Choice Travel, has asked you to prepare a document containing information on the organizational structure of the company and a graphic that illustrates the services provided by First Choice Travel.

Begin with 4-FCTStructure-4-3-HOA open.

Move the insertion point a double space below the heading ORGANIZATIONAL CHART and then create the organizational chart SmartArt graphic shown in Figure 4.1. To begin, click the Insert tab and then click the SmartArt button in the Illustrations group.

At the Choose a SmartArt Graphic dialog box, click Hierarchy in the left panel and then double-click the first option in the middle panel, Organization Chart.
This displays the organizational chart in the document with the SmartArt Tools Design tab selected. Use buttons on this tab to add additional boxes, change the order of the boxes, choose a different layout, apply formatting with a SmartArt style, and reset the formatting of the organizational chart SmartArt graphic.

If a Type your text here window displays at the left of the SmartArt graphic, close it by clicking the Text Pane button in the Create Graphic group.
You can also close the window by clicking the Close button in the upper right corner of the window.

Delete the bottom right box in the graphic by clicking the border of the box to select it and then pressing the Delete key.
Make sure that the selection border that surrounds the box is a solid line and not a dashed line. If a dashed line displays, click the box border again to change it to a solid line.

With the bottom right box selected, click the Add Shape button arrow in the Create Graphic group on the SmartArt Tools Design tab and then click Add Shape Below.
Your organizational chart SmartArt graphic should contain the same boxes as shown in Figure 4.1.

Click the [Text] placeholder in the top box, type Terry Blessing, press the Enter key, and then type President. Click in each of the remaining boxes and type the text as shown in Figure 4.1. (Figure 4.1 shows the organizational chart as it will appear when all formatting has been applied.)

Click inside the SmartArt graphic border but outside any objects in the graphic.
This deselects the shape in the SmartArt graphic but keeps the graphic selected.

Click the More SmartArt Styles button in the SmartArt Styles group.

Click the Inset option (second option in the 3-D section).

Click the Change Colors button in the SmartArt Styles group and then click the Colorful Range - Accent Colors 5 to 6 option (last option in the Colorful section).

Click the SmartArt Tools Format tab.
The SmartArt Tools Format tab contains buttons for changing the box shape; applying shape styles; applying WordArt styles to text; applying text fill, outline, and effects; and arranging and sizing the SmartArt graphic.

Click the tab (contains a left-pointing triangle) at the left side of the diagram border.

Click in the Type your text here window and then press Ctrl + A.
This selects all of the text and shapes in the graphic.

Click the Change Shape button in the Shapes group and then click the Rectangle: Rounded Corners option (second shape in the Rectangles section).

Click the Shape Outline button arrow in the
Shape Styles group and then click the Dark Blue option (ninth option in the Standard Colors section).

Click the Text Fill button arrow in the WordArt Styles group and then click the Dark Blue option in the Standard Colors section.

Press Ctrl + B to apply bold formatting to the text.

Close the Text pane by clicking the Close button in the upper right corner of the pane.

Deselect the shapes (but not the graphic) by clicking inside the SmartArt graphic border but outside any objects.

Click in the Shape Height measurement box in the Size group, type 4, click in the Shape Width measurement box, type 6.5, and then press the Enter key. (You may need to click the Size button to display the size measurement boxes.)
In addition to the Shape Height and Shape Width measurement boxes, you can increase or decrease the size of a SmartArt graphic by dragging a corner of the graphic border.
To maintain the proportions of the graphic, press and hold down the Shift key while dragging the border.

Press Ctrl + End to move the insertion point below the title TRAVEL SERVICES on the second page.

Click the SmartArt Tools Format tab.

Hold down the Shift key, click each of the circles in the graphic, and then release the Shift key.
This selects all of the circle shapes in the graphic.

Click the Larger button in the Shapes group to slightly increase the size of the circles.
