PowerSchool – This is our Student Information System. Parents, teachers, students, and administrators use this product.

Office 365 –http://portal.office.comAccounts are provided for all staff and students in grades K-12 . Email for 5-12, cloud storage, collaboration tools, online Office products, and

Microsoft Class Teams.

Websites (SchoolMessenger) – schoolinitials.rcstn.net (e.g. ges.rcstn.net) Teachers are expected to create a basic teacher webpage by September 6.

Note - District accounts are created as part of the onboarding process with the Human Resources department.

Tech Coaches

• Tech Coach in each school

• Tech Coach serves as the first responder for

basic technology needs

• You submit a work order via SchoolDude link

on Tech Coach webpage. Tech Coach

will work with you to resolve the issue if

possible

• If not able to resolve issue, tech coach will

forward your work request to the

Technology office via SchoolDude

Note: tech coaches are paid a small stipend,

but also have full-time teaching

Internet Filter

• Our district internet filter prevents some

content from being accessed in our network. • Sites like YouTube are blocked for students, but

open for teachers’ instructional use.

• If you are blocked and need access to a site, your logon credentials for a PC should give you access to sites that may be blocked for

students.

• See your tech coach if you need help accessing blocked content.

How can I get started?

1. Login to your school’s webpage (scroll down to LOGIN)

• Username: firstname.lastname • Password: your network password

• You will see “Access denied” (or a similar error message)

• Login by next week please!

2. Watch the Teacher Webpage Training Videos posted on Technology page

3. Email your webmaster verifying that you have watched the video

4. Tech Coach/Webmaster will create your teacher webpage template, connect you to school directory and activate your login

5. SchoolMessenger provides Tech Support for your teacher webpage

Troubleshooting:

• To log into your computer, use the first part of your email address. If your email is [email protected], you would use robin.couts

• If your Windows computer says that there are “No logon servers” when trying to login, check that your computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable.

• If your Apple computer shakes when trying to login, check that your computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable.

• Many times, restarting your computer will resolve technical issues – TRY THIS FIRST

• You should restart your computer AT LEAST once a week to receive the latest updates.

• Instructional devices should be connected to RCS or RCS-Staff. This is a hidden network used for instructional purposes ONLY. Your tech coach can assist in connecting instructional devices.

• Guest is a public network open to all and should be used for all phones, student devices,

etc. (non-instructional devices)
