Once you master the fundamentals of criminal justice, you may complete concentration-based coursework to gain practical expertise that will help you stand out on the job. Your curriculum may include courses in emergency management, forensic science, juvenile justice, terrorism, the administration of criminal justice, or other
related subjects.
Network with peers and potential employers as you learn from experienced professionals to obtain the skills needed for success and leadership in homeland security and emergency management, law enforcement, corrections, investigation, or forensics at the local, state, and federal levels.
In Excelsior’s Criminal Justice program, you’ll study the most pressing issues in criminal justice today.
Developed by national experts, Excelsior College courses delve into all aspects of criminal justice, from juvenile delinquency and drug crime, to white collar crime and victim and perpetrator behavior. In addition, you'll be able to take courses in subjects such as psychology, sociology, and communication.

The Excelsior College Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ) is designed to equip you with the theoretical foundation and practical skills you will need to successfully and proficiently manage the growing and complex challenges in public safety. The rigorous curriculum will increase your ability to think creatively and employ innovation in problem solving. Ultimately, you will be prepared to clearly communicate and lead with confidence in times of crisis. This program affords you the opportunity to develop the attitudes and performance skills necessary to succeed as a leader in public safety.

While you’re enrolled in our bachelor’s program, you can take graduate-level criminal justice courses,
and then later apply up to 6 of these credits to your master’s in criminal justice at Excelsior College.
