Evacuation routes are confirmed, and signage accurately reflects these.

NB In the event of emergency the priority is getting out of the building calmly regardless of social distancing.

Consideration given to PEEP – buddies are assigned or

reassigned according to available persons.

Arrangements in place to support individuals with reduced mobility including cover arrangements in the case of reduced numbers of staff.

Current evacuation routes would cause multiple groups of people to come into contact. More appropriate alternatives are possible.

M

Revised evacuation procedure shared with all staff and children. All rooms have a marked

evacuation procedure map. Staff to follow this map.

Buddy system updated but currently no individuals need specific evacuation plans.

Fire drill.

ventilation and thermal comfort.

Jan 2021

Classroom entry and exit routes have been determined and appropriate signage in place.

Children do not follow designated exit routes which would mean social

distancing rules are broken.

M For the most part this is about appropriate supervision by staff but if children repeatedly and deliberately fail to follow

instructions the behaviour policy will apply. All routes in place and notified to parents by end of Summer term 2020 L L Appropriate resources are

Consideration given to staffing roles and responsibilities with regards to the contingency remote provision alongside in school provision.

If all staff are teaching in class groups.

M All groups will have no more than 31 children due to classroom layout and design. There will be two members of staff assigned to each group which will allow teachers to leave the group to continue to support on line learning for any children who are self isolating

During period of national lockdown, year group teams will have one member of staff in school offering face to face learning and one at home offering online learning where

possible. Where staff are having to self-isolate, the other member of staff could offer face to face teaching. Remote Learning provision may need to change where staff are poorly so that live teaching is not offered and recordings of in school teaching is recorded instead.

Consider use of cover staff to deliver and manage remote learning in cases of multiple individual pupils being off. Ensure contingency plan takes into account a different approach for individual vs whole class isolation.

8.3.21

Consideration given to the options for redeployment of staff to support the effective working of the school.

If redeployment is taking place staff are aware of controls and processes in respect of tasks they are unfamiliar with.

Follow DfE Guidance on sports coaches when this is available. Limit bubbles they work with and only allow them to work outside if they are allowed to work in schools.

Forest school teacher is a member of current staff and will offer provision with a small number of bubbles. This will be offered outside.

Share risk assessment and any amended processes with SCS coaching.

Jan 2020

5.3.21

Group Sizes

All bubbles have been

determined in accordance with the principles of limiting social interaction and consistent groups of CYP, that can remain separate from other people and groups.

All children and young people are included in distinct groups/ ‘bubbles’ that do not mix and the number of children and young people in each bubble is as small as possible.

Children encounter too many interactions with other pupils if groups are not limited in size.

M All groups will have no more than 30 children in a group with 2 members of staff that form a bubble. Forest school and PE will also take place in the bubble without increasing numbers.

Bubbles will remain the smallest number possible to allow them to be seated on individual tables. Bubble sizes will be reviewed regularly and two smaller groups created where numbers do not allow for social distancing within

Staff and pupil plan in place July 2020

(20)

20

the classroom of one pupil per desk unless they are siblings.

From March 8th until the Easter holidays, children will remain in class bubbles of no more than 30. After Easter, pupils will move into year groups bubbles. They will only be in year groups bubbles at play time and at lunch. Children will be able to eat lunch in their year group bubbles in the hall but at distinct class tables. No more than two year groups in the hall at a time. At least 2m between the year groups. Thorough cleaning of tables and chairs after use.

8.3.21 Review 25.3.21

Staffing allocations to groups determined, including

consistency and any solutions to insufficient staffing numbers.

If staff are ill there may not be cover

See above guidance on consistency and risks around insufficient staff.

Consistent groups will remain during the national lockdown, although given the numbers, this may include mixed-age groups in one bubble to limit the number of staff in school. Children do not need to attend school every day during this period if a parent works shifts or is part-time in order to limit numbers in the

(21)

21

bubble at all times. Staff will be one week on and one week off. Cover will be offered to each year group bubble by a consistent member of staff to limit the number of staff working with different bubbles. Staff working in more than one bubble will strictly social distance from the pupils and support staff and will wear a mask and stand side on to any pupil they offer feedback to while they are working.

The majority of staff are allocated to consistent groups. Some staff may work across groups to deliver cover, PE or Forest Schools. These staff to keep a record of their cover. Where staff work across groups they should aim to maintain social distancing strictly and good hygiene

including wiping surfaces where they have worked.

8.3.21

Approach to Social Distancing

Arrangements for social distancing in place to consider: Staggered school drop off/pick up times and locations (if possible)

Parents may not adhere to social distancing or follow the staggered entry/exit and

one-way system. H

(22)

22 Staggered or limited amounts of

moving around the school/ corridors

Classroom design

Break and lunch times are staggered. Plans for social distancing during these times in place, such as when queuing for lunches

Children coming into close contact when walking up the stairs or along the corridor.

Children from different groups will be in the same area. Not enough time to stagger groups and ensure that tables, and equipment are cleaned between groups. M M 8.50 EYFS, Y1, Y 2, Pick up: 2.50 EYFS, Y1, Y2 3.00 Y3, Y4 3.10 Y5, Y6

Parents who do not adhere to the rules will be reminded that they need to follow the guidelines to ensure safety for all.

The school will operate a one-way system to minimise close contact on the stairs or in the corridor. Spaces marked on the floor to indicate 2m apart (the school will keep the 2m markings rather than 1m where possible).

The children will eat their lunch in the classroom at their allocated desk. Lunch times will be staggered to allow children access to a larger space to ensure social distancing.

Lunches will be brought to the classroom and left outside for a member of that group to collect. Review at Easter to allow children to play in year group bubbles and eat in the hall in year group

(23)

23 Toilet arrangements Different groups of children

sharing toilets

bubbles, but at distinct tables and 2m apart from other year groups on a rota basis so no more than two year groups in the hall. All children will use hand gel before entering the toilet and the same when they return to the classroom.

EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 have their own year group toilets.

Grow pupils to have their own designated toilet.

In KS2 corridor, boys will have a year 3/4 set of toilets and a year 5/6 set of toilets. Girls will have cubicles labelled for 3/4 girls and 5/6 girls in their toilet block. Social distancing plans

communicated with parents, including approach to breaches.

Parents are not aware of expectations in school.

M Home school agreement shared with parents and new daily rules and routines shared via parent mail sent with a map and clear instructions for drop off and pick up. Make clear that any

deliberate breaches of social distancing or hygiene rules will be dealt with using behaviour policy.

July 2020

L`

Approach to assemblies – if still occurring – plan to manage social distancing.

Bubbles would be more regularly mixed.

H Assemblies to be held via Teams so all children remain in

classrooms.

8.3.21

(24)

24 Arrangements in place for the use

of the playground, including equipment.

NB: outdoor equipment should not be used unless it is

appropriately cleaned between groups of children and young people using it, and that multiple groups do not use it

simultaneously.

Children playing together at break and lunch times. Different groups being in a shared space.

Equipment being used by different groups.

M Zones for each group of children in school. Staggered play and lunch times.

No equipment will be shared across the groups unless it is cleaned in between.

Large outdoor equipment will be on a rota between zones so that there is a gap between usage.

PPE

PPE requirements understood and appropriate supplies in place. Long term approach to obtaining adequate PPE supplies in place. Approach to face coverings updated to include inside

classroom where social distancing is not possible and outside of the classroom for primary staff.

The government clearly state that PPE in school is not required. However, the school has agreed that any staff will have the right to wear PPE if they choose as long as it is used correctly. PPE guidance on how to use the equipment has been shared with staff.

However, staff are required to wear PPE for first aid. SLT will discuss specific circumstances involving children with particular needs with their 1:1 support in order to determine whether PPE should be worn for their role. PPE bought in bulk by the trust. From October 2020 with a rising infection rate the school asked staff to wear a mask when working with a group, 1:1 or

21.5.20

(26)

26

while they are walking amongst the children in the classroom.

During period of national

lockdown, all staff should wear a mask when out of their primary work space, e.g classroom or office and when they walk through corridors. Masks may be removed whilst seated in the staffroom. This will continue from schools reopening in March.

Jan 2021 Response to suspected/ confirmed case of COVID19 in school

Approach to confirmed COVID19 cases in place: during school day Which staff member/s should be informed/ take action

Area established to be used if an individual is displaying symptoms during the school day and needs to be isolated

Cleaning procedure in place Arrangements for informing parent community in place

Suspected case in school (staff or pupil)

Head Teacher/deputy to be informed immediately if a staff member or a child is isolating, has symptoms or has taken a test.

Where the child, young person or staff member tests positive, guidance from test and trace should be sought and the rest of their class/group within their childcare or education setting should be sent home and advised to self-isolate for 10 days. Any cover staff working with that group will also be informed and may need to self-isolate. The other household members of that wider class/group do not need to self-isolate unless the child,

Jan 2021

(27)

27

young person or staff member they live with in that group subsequently develops symptoms. The parents in the class will be informed of the positive test. The rest of the school community will be advised that a positive test has occurred. As part of the national test and trace programme, if other cases are detected within the child or young person’s cohort or in the wider education or childcare setting, Public Health England’s local Health Protection Teams will conduct a rapid investigation and will advise schools and other settings on the most appropriate action to take. In some cases, a larger number of other children and young people may be asked to self-isolate at home as a precautionary measure - perhaps the whole site or year group. Where settings are observing guidance on infection prevention and control, which will reduce risk of transmission, closure of the whole setting will not generally be necessary. Deep clean of classroom will take place

(28)

28

after a 72hr room isolation period.

Medical room to be used as space for isolation if child presents symptoms during the school day. Staff should remain 2m away from child. If they need to go to the toilet whilst awaiting collection, the toilet should be noted and thoroughly cleaned afterwards. Staff supporting the child should wear PPE and should thoroughly clean the area after used and wash their hands.

Approach to confirmed COVID19 cases in place: outside of school hours

Cleaning procedure in place

parents’ duty to secure that their child attends regularly at school where the child is a registered pupil at school and they are of compulsory school age;

schools’ responsibilities to record attendance and follow up absence the availability to issue sanctions, including fixed penalty notices in line with local authorities’ codes of conduct"
