UIC connectors are

necessary in all internatio- nal transportation vehicles including locomotives. This requires appropriate

connector devices

between the locomotive and cars. The connectors can also be used for

stationary applications that require the UIC norm and meet the EN 45545-2 fire prevention regulations.

UIC 552 M1 series UIC 541 VE

(13)

PRODUCT INFORMATION

∙ UIC 541 VE connectors for energy and signal transfer on electro-pneumatic and emergency brakes

∙ UIC 552 VE connectors for all vehicles (incl. locomotives) outfi tted with train lines. Our system is designed to work with a voltage of 3.9 kV

∙ UIC 558 VE connectors for remote switching, remote control and acoustics between vehicles. To minimize down- time during maintenance and replacement of worn contacts, we offer an exchangeable coupling case

∙ UIC IT enables data to be transmitted for infotainment and entertainment applications up to 10 Gbit/s via a corresponding module (4x 2 contacts)

ADVANTAGES

∙ Guaranteed coupling compatibility with all available systems on the market

∙ Highest quality and excellent reliability validated by decades of use in the fi eld

∙ Long lifespan and minimum maintenance keep the product profi table

∙ Protection against accidental uncoupling

The era-transceiver

®

is an optical high-speed data transfer module that serves as the interface between railway cars. The device uniquely provides secure data transfer at 100%

galvanic separation. It is built to handle even the toughest of environmental conditions.

Easy Retrofitting

Retrofitting your vehicles with

the ETHERNET-UPGRADE-SOLUTION or Plug & Play ETHERNET option.

(17)

PRODUCT INFORMATION

∙ The era-transceiver®’s data transfer principle: The incoming electric Ethernet signal is transformed into an optical signal. In the next car the signal is then transformed back into an electrical signal

∙ Data transfer rates between 100 MBit/s and 10 GBit/s possible ∙ Full duplex high-speed Ethernet, which means simultaneous sending/

receiving of data possible

∙ Upon client request, copper or glass fiber connectors available ∙ Retrofit installation in existing vehicles, as well as in new e-couplings

ADVANTAGES

∙ Secure data transfer even when 90% dirty

∙ Optical signals are free of EMC influence, potential shift and relative motion – for secure and error-free data transfer

∙ No mechanical wear guarantees continuous, secure functionality, since the era-transceiver works contact-free

∙ Obvious longer operation lifespan, when compared to current contact systems, leads to savings throughout the entire product‘s life

∙ Various retrofitting solutions available based on client requirements
