PDATE

We have decided, in an abundance of caution, to have the parish office closed to visitors for two weeks after the Christmas holiday. Therefore we will be working virtually. You may contact us by e-mail however phone messages may not be answered in a timely manner. We will check the phone messages periodically and return calls as soon as possible.

If you need something at the parish office we can arrange an appointment time or we will let you know when someone will be available to help you.

We appreciate your understanding as we attempt to protect Dusty from unnecessary exposure to anyone who may have traveled or interacted with others from out of the area and who were inadvertently exposed.

other star has this capacity to guide, not merely to move but to beckon, to "go before them," drawing and guiding them along their way. The star remained after bringing them to the place, in order that the child might also be seen. For there is nothing conspicuous about the place. The inn was ordinary. The mother was not celebrated or notable. The star was needed to manifest and illumine the lowly place, until they had reached their destination at the manger." [The Gospel of Matthew, Homily 7:3]

In their thirst for knowledge of God, the wise men from the East willingly left everything, their home and country, in pursuit of that quest. In their diligent search they were led to the source of true knowledge - to Jesus Christ, the Light and Wisdom of God. When they found the newborn King they humbly worshiped him and gave him gifts fitting for a king.

The Lord of the universe revealed the star of Bethlehem to the Gentiles of the East so they could come and worship Jesus, the Prince of Peace and King of Kings. He gives each one of us the same light of revelation to recognize and accept Jesus. Do you bring the light of Jesus Christ to those you meet through the witness of your life and testimony?

Happy New Year!

It is a new year filled with new possibilities.

We are all looking forward to putting 2020 in the past. Some good things happened in 2020 as well but we can all agree that it was a tough year of mixed events and emotions. Glad to be starting a new year with brand new ideas and fresh dog treats!

LESSING

The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Epiphany. "The Lord and ruler is coming; kingship is his, and government and power." With these words the Church proclaims that the feast brings to a perfect fulfillment all the purposes of Advent. Epiphany, therefore, marks the liturgical zenith of the Advent-Christmas season. — Pius Parsch

The blessing of homes, on whose lintels are inscribed the Cross of Salvation, together with the indication of the year and the initials of the three wise men (C+M+B), which can also be interpreted to mean Christus Mansionem Benedicat, written in chalk; this custom, often accompanied by processions of children accompanied by their parents, expresses the blessing of Christ through the intercession of the three wise men and is an occasion for gathering offerings for charitable and missionary purposes.

St. Elizabeth will not be able to provide chalk packets this year however we encourage you to continue the tradition.
