 Modernization of 3*60 MVA and 2*25 MVA Steam Turbine Generators

(Scope: P&ID design, Turbine and Generator Control System, Governer, Exciter, Protection Relays, Vibration Monitoring System, Hydrogen Monitoring System, Instrumentation, Cabling).

 2*154/6.3 kV 55 MVA Power Transformers and Busducts.

Sasa DuPont Sabancı Polyester Sanayi A.Ş., Adana August 2000–October 2004 Utilities E&I Maintenance and Engineering Leader

Responsibilities

 Responsible for the management of E&I maintenance activities of steam vaporizers,

thermal fluid vaporizers, HVAC systems, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment plants, tank farms.

 Responsible for the operation and maintenance of 154 kV switchyard, MV and LV systems.

 Responsible for taking the necessary actions to meet safety, plant uptime and budget

goals for the E&I Maintenance Group including routine and preventive maintenance.

 Member of Electrical Safety Committee and Energy Conservation Committee.

 Managed a team of supervisors and technicians, working seven days a week, on three

shifts. Projects

 Leaded the ISO 9002 certification of maintenance group of utilities and succeeded in

receiving the ISO 9002 in a very short period.

 Involved in the restructuring of maintenance groups in the guidance of an expert company.

Revised the maintenance plans, job plans and preventive maintenance plans for the utilities.

 Leaded the commissioning work of a thermal fluid vaporizer, two high pressure

compressors and several air handling units.

 Leaded six sigma projects on the performance improvement of thermal fluid vaporizers, on

the electrical energy optimization of cooling towers and water treatment plant and on optimization of compressed air systems

 Leaded a Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) study on the main tank farm of Sasa DuPontSA.

Applied hazards analysis techniques and prepared a report to be presented to the top management.

 Performed engineering studies towards preventive maintenance like thermographic

inspection and vibration analysis.

 Involved in the operation and maintenance of highly automated process control systems.

 Worked in the glass identification, cutting and packing area which was the most technology

intensive region of the plant.

 Worked in preparing routine maintenance schedules.

 Worked part-time during the start-up of a poultry processing plant with engineers from
