Plumbing systems

Before you choose your shower, you need to know which plumbing system you have and which Galaxy showers are compatible with it. Our handy guide details the types of plumbing systems available and the features of each so that you can identify which one you have in your home.

LOW PRESSURE GRAVITY SYSTEM

A gravity system consists of a cold water header tank installed in a loft space and a hot water cylinder installed in an airing cupboard. This type of system tends to supply smaller volumes of water, so we recommend that you install a pumpedshowertoboostthewaterflow.

HIGH PRESSURE COMBINATION

BOILER SYSTEM

A combination boiler system consists of a boiler that heats water on demand and does not include a cold water header tank or hot water cylinder.

HIGH PRESSURE MAINS FED SYSTEM

A mains fed unvented system consists of a boiler that heats a high pressure water cylinder that is typically installed in an airing cupboard. This hot water cylinder usually supplies high volumes of water.

COLD MAINS

Your cold mains supply will connect to most electric showers and is ideal if you don’t have access to enough stored hot water to heat your shower, or if you prefer not to use your stored hot water for showering.

Aqua Premier

Ideal where access to stored hot water is limited, the Aqua Premier is a compact, unvented

instantaneous water heater supplying hot water on demand to single or dual outlets.
