As a Lieutenant, I was responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of the section which performed the patrol function. Additionally, I assisted the director in conducting legal research and maintaining liaison with various local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and the university community.
After assisting in a departmental reorganization in 1978, I developed the patrol section and implemented operational patrol procedures and techniques. This resulted in a reduction in reported crime and fostered a positive image of the department within the community.

As a Postal Inspector, I investigated violations of the federal law as it pertains to the U.S. Mail. Performance was consistently rated excellent.

As a Special Agent Squad Leader, I supervised a group of special agents assigned to enforce the criminal laws of the State of Illinois. Under my direction, the squad was ranked number one based on performance evaluations.
