Counselling Action Group (and Healthy Campus & Special Educational Needs)

Three-year Development Plan (2015 - 2018)

Task and Objective

To foster a healthy and well-balanced development of students.

1. F.1 Life Skills Training

Co-ordinate the Health Department and the F.1 class teachers to organize a series of workshops for the F.1 students during the class teacher periods. Students can learn how to manage their emotion, stress and inter-personal relations.

2. F.2 Growth Camp

Invite some F.2 students with weaker social skills and/or motivation (recommended by class teachers) to join the program. Students are expected to gain confidence and more positive self-images through the program.

3. F. 1 Dare Youth camp

A growth camp will be arranged for all F. 1 students if

the funding has been approved to serve the following functions:

To prepare the promotion of F. 1 students to F. 2. To reinforce their sense of belonging to their class and the school.

Counselling teachers are expected to give support to the Big Brothers and Sisters via regular meetings.

An orientation day is conducted before the beginning of the afterschool tutorial classes.

To introduce themselves to the F.1 students and to strengthen their relationship with the Big Brothers and Sisters through various games. 9/2015-5/2016 LUNG

Follow-up Activities

80% of the Big Brothers and Sisters are committed to the following duties:

To collect the feedback and to share their difficulties during the regular meetings with the counselling teachers.

 Attend the afterschool tutorial class at least once a week.  To reinforce their sense of belonging to their class and the school.  Show their concern (at least once a month) to the F.1 students by

(1) attending the Junior Fellowship with the F.1 students; or (2) having lunch with the F.1 students

 Attend regular meetings with corresponding counselling teachers.

If the F.1 students apply the self-improvement scheme of the Discipline AG, the

corresponding Big Brothers and Sisters will be invited to join the scheme too.

F.3-5 Big Brothers and Sisters 12/2015 6/2016 LUNG Funding allocated: $1,000 Mid-year Gathering Thanksgiving Day

To strengthen the relationship among the Big Brothers and Sisters so that they can support each other.

F.1 students are encouraged to show their gratitude to the Big Brothers and Sisters in the Thanksgiving Day. F. 1 Dare Youth camp *KMC, TYH, MFY, CSC, LMS, F.1 class teachers All F. 1 students 15-17/10/2015 (post examination activity)

Coordinate with the Hong Kong Children & Youth Services to organize the following programmes on internet addiction:

 Short courses for F.2 and F.3 students who have shown less self-control on the use of internet.(coordinate with Student Support Task Group if necessary)

 Seminar(s) for the parents (coordinate the PTA if necessary) *KMC, CSC F.3-5 students

Summer vacation (2016)

Funding allocated: $6,000

 About 10 students from F.3-5 will be invited to join the programme

 For each activity of the programme, 80% of the students invited are able to attend.

F.1 Life Skills Training

CSC, TYH All F.1 students 9/2015 - 5/2016 Health Department, LUNG  Conduct the briefing and evaluation meetings by the Health Department to the F.1 class teachers.

 Prepare the materials for the training course.  Collect feedback from our students via questionnaires.

An evaluation report will be prepared by the Health Department. F.2 Growth Camp *CSC, TYH, MFY, KMC F.2 students (recommended by class teachers)

12/2015-4/2016 Salvation Army Bradbury Camp LUNG

Funding allocated: $12,000

20-30 F.2 students are invited to join the program. 80% of the students invited are able to:

 attend a pre-camp briefing session;

 participate the Growth Camp in Cheung Chau (12/2015);  participate in serving some specific organizations;  participate in the graduation ceremony.

Encourage students to contribute more effort to their family, school and community.

Case Conferences
