Online Classes

Students who take online classes make a commitment to log on to their classes at least three times per week . Online courses are designed for students who enjoy learning independently and cannot attend on-campus on a regular basis, and who are comfortable using a computer . Online courses are not self-paced courses; they follow the semester schedule and online students have deadlines and sched-ules just as classroom courses do . Online classes are academically the same as on-campus classes, and meet the same General Education and Transfer require-ments as their on-campus counterparts . To take online classes at ELAC, you must first apply to the campus and go through the matriculation process .

Online classes follow the same academic calendar as regular classes . This means that they start when the semester starts . Some online classes are short term classes which have their own start dates; please check the schedule of classes on those dates: http://www .elac .edu/schedules/index .htm .

The office of Distance Education nor the Distance Education Coordinator does not provide academic counseling (http://www .elac .edu/studentservices/counsel-ing/index .htm) or financial aid information (http://www .elac .edu/admission/finaid/ index .htm) .
