Music with Ms. Erin

From the Director

Whew! The Music Festival is over and the last several weeks are behind us. What a busy time for the preschool—2011-2012 registration, upcom-ing summer registration, the festival, etc. As I take a moment to reflect on the past month I realize how vital and amazing our preschool is. Each month I am thankful for so many things; your bright and inquisitive children, our dedicated teachers, the willingness of our parents to give of their time, talents, and gifts. But this month, in particular, I would like to specifically thank several people:

Susie Gravette, mom to Maggie, truly went above and beyond for

our Music Festival. She worked tirelessly to chair this event and oversaw all of the details from coordinating planning committee meetings last year to writing thank you notes after the event. What an amazing job! We are so thankful for your expertise and attention to detail and we will miss you next year as our chair. Thank you, Susie! A big welcome to

Amber Higginbotham who will be our festival chair for next year. Sarah & Robert Gilbreath, parents to Margaret, for their hours of

coordinating all of the business and family sponsorships! This family team made a lot of phone calls and followed through with all aspects of our very important sponsorships. We are so thankful for all of their hard work. Great job!

Sandy K. Pennington

Kara & Matt Swinney, parents to Sadie, for their expertise coordinating the entire silent auction! In addition to

donating several items personally they called businesses and individuals to obtain a wonderful, family-friendly mix of things at our auction. We are so thankful for all of their hard work and follow through. Fantastic job!

Andrew Leeper, dad to Evan and Ava, with his wonderful design and creative abilities brings our festival to life.

He created all of the silent auction posters and the event poster! In fact, Trout Fishing in America loved his event poster so much they asked for a copy. We can’t thank you enough for your talents!

Cindy Roberts & Margaret Kercher, mom to Clara, and mom to Xander, worked together to organize and

coordinate our arts and crafts rooms. 4 different crafts, six rooms of supplies and lots of preparation go into our festival. It’s a big job and they did it seamlessly. Thanks Cindy for your many years of being the festival’s arts and crafts queen. Margaret, welcome aboard—we are excited to have you!

Mandy Black, mom to Owen, coordinated all of our volunteers - also a big job. Her organization skills and

stick-to-itiveness made the festival run smoothly. We couldn’t do it without her and our parent volunteers.

Melonie Laney, mom to Kendall and Clayton, coordinated all of our concessions. She secured donations from

Austin’s Pizza, Maudie’s, Frank’s, HEB and others, and purchased all of the food items, etc. Great job. Thanks.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS:

EVENT STEERING COMMITTEE

It was another great event this year!

This community-wide festival brought in just over $8,000 for the preschool.

Funds raised directly benefit your child and the entire school. Thank you so much to everyone that volunteered,

attended and helped spread the word. We have such great parent volunteers and wanted to name them here

because this event is entirely volunteer-based. We can’t thank you enough for your time and talents!

Annual Cup & Plate Project Coming March 28th

This is a family favorite! Check out a kit (located outside of the preschool office and let

your children (or yourself) get creative with a plate, cup or bowl. Check out samples of each if you’ve never seen them before. These make great gifts for grandparents or aunts and uncles. Each item costs $10. Full instructions provided and everything you

need is included in the kit. Look for kits to be set out on Monday, March 28.

Summer registration begins on Wednesday, March 23 and is on a first-come, first-served basis, i.e. seniority is not taken into account for this registration process. All children have the option

of coming Monday-Friday, M/W/F, or T/TH regardless of

their current enrollment status. Forms will be put in your child’s cubby. Please indicate on the form if your child will need Before/After school care. Our summer program runs just like our school year program with before and after school care available. Classes may be combined to accommodate reduced enrollment and staff availability.
