Ṣoḍaśavarga Śloka 13½

दशमममांशमशाः स्वतश्चचैजजे ययग्म तन्नवममतत स्ममतमशाः।

daśamāṁśāḥ svataścaije yugma tannavamāt smṛtāḥ |13½

Every rāśi is divided (aṁśa) into ten (daśa) parts [3°

each]. For odd signs these dasāṁśa are reckoned

regular and direct from the same sign whereas for

even signs the reckoning is from the ninth sign.

•

_{दस dasa means ten and aṁśa means portion – dasāṁśa}

means the one-tenth portion of a sign (30°) = 3° arc

•

Each sign has10 Dasāṁśa  the karma of 10 years (@ 1

dasāṁśa per year) and 12 signs = karma for 120 years

•

Dasāṁśa is included in Manuṣya jātaka (Dasavarga and

higher) and not in ṣaḍvarga or saptavarga.

•

Karma as manifested action is done well when it is karma

yoga

Abilities in D10

• Planets in fire signs give pronounced natural abilities

• Planets in water signs give abilities that are acquired

after study (brāhmaṇa rāśi).

• Planets in air signs give skills after study and practice

• Planets in earth signs give skills only after many

years of labour.

• Planets in exaltation show complete acquisition of

abilities while those in debility show ‘inability’ in

areas ruled by them unless they have cancellation of

debility. Such planets with nīcabhañga can bring great

success if careers indicated by them are pursued

(Śrīmanta)

Śrī Kṛṣṇa Abilities

Agni Rāśi: Natural  Rāhu in Le – political manipulation (bheda niti), Ve – vijñāna; Sat in Sg – labour, patience

Jala Rāśi: None – did not need to learn from anyone

Vāyu rāśi: All lamps (Su, Mo) music, governance etc. Ketu – meditation, spiritual knowledge [because Su is in vāyu rāśi, this knowledge reveals by itself]

Pṛthvi rāśi: Siddhi yoga of Ju-Me [even pṛthvi rāśi gives all abilities] One of those rare charts where all abilities are present and mastered
