Ejector Plate Unloading

Only Camel®offers Super Products’

patented ejector plate unloading system. A safe, easy-to-use and maintenance-free unloading system, the ejector plate scrapes the body clean for fast, thorough debris removal and washdowns. And since there’s no need to raise the collector body to unload, debris removal can be done in areas where a traditional dump body may be limited due to overhead obstructions or unstable ground.

Super Pak Dewatering System

Camel’s Super Pak dewatering system can increase on-the-job productivity while reducing time and costs associ-ated with debris removal.

Utilizing this material and water sepa-ration process, operators can easily move the ejector plate to speed up the draining process and squeeze out up to 98 percent of the liquid through a 6" drain located on the collector body. The increase in debris capacity that results can lower operating fuel costs as fewer trips to the dump site will be needed. And the drier loads are less messy to remove than those with a traditional dump body unit.

Water Recycling System . . . Go Green and Save!

Save time and cost associated with replenishing your water supply with Camel’s water recycling system. Super Products was the first to offer a combination sewer cleaner with wastewater recycling capability and it’s still the best system available today.

Simply fill the system with fresh water and, true to its name, the environmen-tally friendly Camel will allow you to work all day without the need to replenish your water supply.

Camel Jet®Water Jetting System

An affordable and valuable addition to any fleet, our Camel Jet high-pressure water jetting system is effective for keeping municipal sewers, sanitary and storm sewer lines, laterals, and drainage lines clean and free flowing.

UNPARALLELED WATER & VACUUM SYSTEM DESIGN INNOVATIONS

Camel’s Vacuum System in Operation

Pioneered and developed by Super Products, the use of a posi-tive displacement vacuum pump ensures maximum vacuum and air flow at all engine speeds and allows material to be vacuumed above or below the surface. And with the high vacuum levels and CFM generated by the positive vacuum pump, no material is too deep or far away from the unit to convey.

For added versatility, the Camel offers three modes of conveying material

Air Conveyance – Like a centrifugal fan, the air conveyance mode moves material with air. With this method, air must be present to convey material.

Pure Vacuum – The pure vacuum mode moves material with vacuum similar to a vane-type pump used in septic tank units. This method moves material with pure vacuum.

Fluidizing Tube – A combination of both methods, the Fluidizing Tube removes material from beneath the liquid surface by pure vacuum, then injects air into the system to carry material into the collector body via air conveyance.

When temperatures dip below freezing, leaving water in Camel units can pose a risk. Although this may not be a concern if the unit is parked in a heated structure, parking it outside in the cold sets the stage for problems. Regardless of the brand, water pumps can be destroyed by cold weather: steel literally split wide open; crank shafts pushed out the pump casing; and plumbing systems destroyed. There are a couple of ways to protect the Camel without having to build a dedicated parking structure. Super Products offers a winter recirculation package on Camel combination units. By simply connecting the end of the sewer hose to a fitting and turning a ball valve, the water system can be operated while driving down the road. This keeps the water moving continuously throughout the entire system to prevent it from freezing. And there are no limitations to road speed with the system. Another way the Camel can combat the cold is with its air purge system. This system is designed to completely blow out the water system utilizing the chassis air. Just plug the air purge valve into the connection on the water system and completely blow down the system. The average operator can complete this procedure in 20 minutes or less at the end of the day and then the unit can safely be stored outside in freezing temperatures. The Camel also features an antifreeze injection system that can prevent the unit from freezing. (Randy Lyons) After drain-ing the water system at the end of the day, the entire water system including the pump, plumbing and sewer hose can be filled with antifreeze. The next morning simply use the air purge system to blow the antifreeze back into its holding tank.

By choosing Super Products’ winter recirculation package, air purge system, or the antifreeze injection option, Camel users can protect themselves from Old Man Winter’s mathematical mayhem.

CAMEL CHAT DEBUTS!

Greetings and welcome to the first issue of Camel Chat, a new quarterly newsletter focused on providing read-ers with useful information on our Camel sewer & catch basin cleaners as well as solutions to everyday sewer cleaning challenges. I hope you find reading it enjoyable and valuable, and I welcome your feedback or topic suggestions to cover in future issues. Dan Koziczkowski 800.837.9711 (ext. 230) dkoz@superproductscorp.com (Just who is Dan? Find out on page 3.)

Recognizing the power of vacuum technology led Super Products to design the Camel®Sewer & Catch Basin Cleaner. Founded in 1972, Wisconsin-based Super Products introduced its first Supersucker®industrial vacuum truck the very next year – March of 1973 to be exact. At that time, the company was a pioneer in producing an industrial vacuum loader with a positive displacement vacuum pump. Looking to expand its product offer -ing to the sewer clean-ing industry, Super Products’ first combination unit, later trademarked the “Camel,” was designed in March of 1976, and the first unit made its debut at the American Public Works Association (APWA) Show later that year. Several Supersucker features were incorporated into the design of the first Camel, including the positive displacement vacuum pump that utilized the truck engine as a power source and a bag house filter system. (Bill Crank) The original Camels adopted several concepts from the garbage packer industry including rec-tangular bodies and a pusher plate for ejecting material out of the body. The first Camels also included a patented water recycling system, whereby vacuumed sewer water was cleaned and returned to the fresh water tank to replenish the supply for additional sewer cleaning.

Since this unique sewer and catch basis cleaner could be filled with fresh water at the beginning of the day and work all day without replenishing its water supply, it earned the name “Camel.”

While many of the improvements made to the Camel over the years, such as the move from a rectangular body to a round debris body, were the result of the changing times and techno-logical advancements, others were based off the suggestions from Super Products’ dealers, customers and demostration unit operators. Since the Camel was introduced 34 years ago as the first combina-tion unit to feature a positive displacement vacuum system and water recycling technology, it has earned a solid reputation for reliability and exceptional performance. Innovative Product Design and Engineering Result in the Birth of the Camel and Its Unique Features

Today’s sleek looking Camel still offers many of the unique features that were found on the original model nearly four decades ago.
