Serving the Greater Chicagoland Area. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Hospice is a special way of caring for people with terminal illnesses. Hospice is a Medicare benefit that provides support to the mind, body and spirit of patients and their families. Medicare covers medications, supplies and equipment related to the terminal illness without cost to the patients. Medicaid and most insurance also cover hospice services. Knowing when to refer a loved one for a hospice evaluation can be difficult.
