Introduction

A hearty welcome at the Estate Duin & Kruidberg! My name is Bernard Lensink, General Manager of the Estate, where I’ve been working since six years now – with pride. Coming from the crowded city of Amsterdam I am still impressed, every day, by the peace and quiet emanating from the countryhouse and its surroundings.

Duin & Kruidberg is an estate with a rich history, that’s worth while studying. Mr Jacob Theodoor Cremer gave the estate its present appearance. Together with his wife he commissioned the construction of the countryhouse and the laying-out of the beautiful English garden. The arrangement is typical English, what is due to the fact that Mr Cremer was married to an English woman, Annie Hogan. Of course there have been made changes in the course of time, but the life of Mr Cremer and his family can still be found in the whole estate. There’s a story behind each detail.

Besides this rich history the Estate has to offer a lot more. It disposes of 75 hotel rooms, the restaurant De Vrienden van Jacob – “The Friends of Jacob” – that has been awarded with a star by Michelin -, five large rooms in classic style, a modern conference centre, provided with ten rooms and the Brasserie & Lounge bar DenK. In addition to our facilities we also pay much attention to the members of our staff. That’s why we can give you the feeling that you are really welcome and provide for all your conveniences.

Hotel rooms

The Estate Duin & Kruidberg disposes of 75 luxury hotel rooms. The countryhouse offers possibilities to spend the night by means of 31 rooms. All rooms are different. Each room has its own unique style and design. In the modern hotel wing are located 44 patio rooms in a more modern style. All rooms are supplied with a spacious bathroom with shower (6 with bath and shower) and a separate lavatory, a well lighted worktable, telephone, an alarm clock, radio, flat screen with pay-TV and Internet, coffee and tea facilities, a safe, a trouser press, toilet requisites, a blow-drier, a minibar and magazines. Besides we offer dry cleaner’s and laundry services.

Conveniences

Classic style rooms

The Estate Duin & Kruidberg disposes of five authentic style rooms. These style rooms are perfect for organizing a delicious lunch or dinner for a small or larger party (to a maximum of 150 persons). In addition these rooms lend style to assemblies, meetings or trainings.

The Cremer (140 m2)

The Cremer room is a warmly furnished room that is suited for large parties. The Cremer room has direct access to our terrace and is therefore well provided with natural light. It offers a beautiful view over the garden in English style. If the weather is nice, a part of your programme can take place on the terrace. Ideal for private dining, receptions and wedding ceremonies.

The Hogan (36 m2)

The Hogan room was the ‘lady’s room’ of the countryhouse. This room is furnished in very fine style and accordingly decorated to the last detail. Furthermore the Hogan rooms disposes of an authentic fireplace and offers a wonderful view over our English garden. Ideal for private dining and small meetings.

The Lodewijk

The Lodewijk style room was the dinner room of the Cremer family. The room has daylight and is beautifully decorated with authentic wall paintings of the 18th century. It breathes an atmosphere of warm heartedness. In sum: a perfect choice for a cosy dinner or a closed meeting.

The Van Hall (29 m2)

The Van Hall room is decorated in a sober classic style. It’s a room with natural light. The furniture includes a large oval hardwood table. Ideal for private dining and board room meetings.

The Springer Lounge (35 m2)

The Springer Lounge is the former library of the countryhouse. It’s a quiet place, decorated in classic style and furnished with several deluxe tables and arm chairs. Ideal for drinks or private dining.

Conference centre

In 1996 the Estate Duin & Kruidberg was extended with a conference centre. Since the estate is a national monument, the expansion was not simple. At the time the choice was made for a very innovative solution: the conference centre was to be built half underground. In this way the estate could enlarge its meeting capacity without damaging the appearance. In 2008 a part of the conference centre was entirely renovated and modernized. In 2012 8 rooms were renovated. We can take care for all the audio-visual equipment you wish, also in cooperation with our

audio-visual partners.

Chicago Lounge (140 m2)

The Chicago Lounge is the heart of the conference centre. This collective room can be used for receptions, breaks and gatherings before and after an event. The Chicago Lounge is also extremely appropriate for working in subgroups outside the assembly room. The lounge adjoins a patio, that provides direct daylight and allows to take a breath of fresh air.

Amsterdam room (184 m2)

The Amsterdam room is distinguished by the terra cotta warriors aligned on the backside. The room is equipped with different kinds of lighting, among which LED-lighting. All this creates a warm and modern ambiance. Ideal for large meetings, dinners and events. Linking the Amsterdam room to the Chicago Lounge creates a space that is large enough for a dinner for 250 persons. On the other hand the room can be divided into two smaller rooms: the Amsterdam Zuid-Oost and the Amsterdam Buitenveldert.

London, Parijs & Zurich room (69 m2 each)

The London, Parijs and Zurich rooms are conference rooms and can be connected, resulting in one large conference room. In the beginning of 2012 these rooms have been renovated. They are equipped with built-in beamers an d screens, connection and sound for laptops and connection for one hand-held microphone.

Boardrooms

The Sao Paulo, Budapest and Ryadh are arranged in a block with a capacity of 10 people and equipped with LCD screens and connections for laptops.

Subrooms

The Hong Kong and Singapore rooms can be connected, creating space for 20 persons. The Hong Kong room is equipped with a SmartScreen.

Food & Beverage

The estate Duin & Kruidberg has several Food & Beverage facilities. From an aperitif to a dinner in a modern and relaxed atmosphere or a culinary dinner in the gastronomic restaurant. The estate has it all!

Brasserie DenK

The souterain of the estate houses a unique meeting place: Brasserie DenK. In this modern and cosy brasserie we serve delicious dishes, prepared with daily fresh seasonal products of the region. The kitchen is open, so you as guest can watch all what is going on. It is an accessible and pure kitchen. The menu offers brasserie classics with a twist. Such as steak tartare, soups with surprising additions and extraordinary vegetarian dishes. Every day there is also a market menu, for € 34,50 per person.

After a brisk walk in the woods, a cycle tour in the dunes or a busy meeting Brasserie DenK is a place of choice for a comforting lunch or dinner.

Brasserie DenK is open on the following days: Lunch: from Monday to Friday 12:00 – 15:00 Dinner: from Monday to Friday 18:00 – 22:00 Saturday and Sunday 12:00 – 21:00

Lounge bar DenK

Lounge bar DenK is a very modern bar, where all kinds of cocktails, champagnes, wines and spirits are served. Furthermore we have made several delicious combinations of wine and food. Lounge bar DenK is the place to be for an aperitif or a digestive. The assortment is broad and our skilled employees will always be ready to inform you about the different drinks and their characteristics. We also hold cocktail courses and organize tastings of champagnes, wines and whiskies. The modern bar is equipped with an interactive bar desk, consisting of eight LCD screens with

movement sensors. It offers great possibilities to show pictures, logos, movies, web pages, television or PowerPoint demos.

Lounge bar DenK is open every day from 17:00 to 01:00.

Nespresso bar

The Nespresso bar is situated in the souterain. It is an almost unique concept in the hotel business. Here you find everything the brand has to offer in the experience of coffee. During the break in a meeting or presentation we serve your guests a cup of coffee of their choice. At breakfast or lunch or after dinner you should not deny yourself a cup of coffee from the Nespresso bar. You can also ask for coffee specialties or titbits like croissants, brownies or muffins.

The Nespresso bar is open every day from 7:00 to 10:00. Restaurant De Vrienden van Jacob

In 2005 Michelin awarded a star to this restaurant. It is located in the former ‘summer’ living room and sun lounge of the countryhouse of the Cremer family and it houses 40 guests.

The restaurant takes its peculiar name from the original inhabitant of the residence: Jacob Thedoor Cremer. He had the house built in order to receive family, friends and relations with due respect. A large terrace, adjoining the sun lounge, offers a splendid view of the pool and the English garden.

The kitchen staff, under the inspiring leadership of chef Alain Alders, prepares French/Mediterranean and seasonal dishes. Our maître d’hôtel sommelier Sietse van Zanten serves various wine selections and will be glad to advise you if you want to make your own choice.

Restaurant De Vrienden van Jacob is open throughout the year from Tuesday to

Saturday. The door opens at 6.00 p.m. and you will we welcomed until 9.30 p.m. From the 1st of May to the 30th of September 2012 lunch is served on Wednesday, Thursday

and Friday from 12:00 till 14:00.

We advise you to book your reservations well in advance, so there will be no

There are lots of opportunities to organize events at the estate Duin & Kruidberg. We will be glad to think along with you to give your event something extra. Hereunder you find some suggestions.

Receptions, jubilees & exclusive dinners

Will you celebrate a special occasion? The Estate offers great possibilities for business relations and private guests. The rooms in classic style are pre-eminently suitable for receptions, jubilees or exclusive dinners. The splendid Amsterdam room is a unique place for a gala dinner, a dinner-dance or a party. On demand you can compose a special menu in concert with the chef.

High Tea

Several times a year the Estate Duin & Kruidberg organizes a Royal High Tea. You will be received with champagne. Then different exquisite hot and cold delicacies will be

presented at your table, in combination with specially selected kinds of tea. Of course you can organize an exclusive Royal High Tea for your company. On www.duin-kruidberg.nl you find an actual summary of dates.

In our Brasserie DenK we serve on Sundays the informal Sunday Tea. Simply relaxing in the afternoon and enjoying different sweet and savory tidbits served at table on

etageres.

Marriages

Your wedding is a day never to be forgotten. Falling in love, proposing en being asked, choosing a date, fixing a budget, looking for a location, ask for witnesses, sharing joy, choosing rings, counting the days and looking forward to the great day. A completely arranged wedding, a ceremony, reception dinner and/or party. We make you the promise of a memorable experience. Your day will be tuned to your wishes, so you can look forward to the special event without worrying about it. On the estate your fairy tale will come true.

Workshops

The Estate Duin & Kruidberg offers different workshops so you can get to know your friends or colleagues in another way. ‘The World of Chocolate’ for instance, a culinary workshop with a small tasting of chocolates and dessert wines under the guidance of a professional patissier. There are also possibilities for wine, champagne and cocktail workshops and tastings. And in cooperation with external partners different ‘active’ workshops, like fencing, shooting, golf and painting, can take place in the gardens of the Estate. Several activity venues are located in the near vicinity of the estate.

Outdoor

The Estate Duin & Kruidberg offers different outdoor opportunities. We work together with several renowned companies to make a success of your event or your meeting. For a sports activity our wonderful garden is the location par excellence.

Outside Meeting Arrangement

The Estate Duin & Kruidberg offers also the possibility of holding a meeting outdoors. The English garden, where a whole of lounge sets, bean chairs and additional amenities has been created, offers the business guest a combination of exertion and relaxation. With its woody surroundings the Estate Duin & Kruidberg is a unique top location where the feeling of being in the countryside dominates!

Pulling a cat filled with coffee or tea, water and tasty titbits you walk into the garden to take a seat in the meeting place, that is supplied with a flip-chart and writing materials. Furthermore you can choice between a lunch of rolls in the garden and a picnic basket - and in the afternoon you will get a refreshing ice-cream! The ultimate feeling of being in the open…
