To provide the students with a brief history and current factors that determine the need for international police cooperation with a special focus on integrated Europe. To deepen their knowledge of the institutions and agencies that guarantee topical fields of cooperation. Train the students how to proceed in using the tools of cooperation in day to day practice.
Indicative Content:
A brief history of the police cooperation. European Union and the collaboration of the law enforcement bodies. Police and judicious cooperation in 1st pillar and 3rd pillar. Law on Legal Assistance, sources of the law and legal administrative procedures: topical areas of cooperation, EU Treaty of Mutual Legal Assistance, Schengen Treaty, Europol Convention, Eurojust Decision, European Arrest Warrant. Institutions involved to operational collaboration ( Europol, Eurojust, Interpol, joint-operational teams in border regions, liaison officers network. International police cooperation and the police structure in Slovakia. Cooperation in the framework of the international police training and education (CEPOL, MEPA, FRONTEX, OLAF).

The key aim of the course is to provide the students with the basic knowledge on public administration and administrative law.
