Varsity Village

Design and Installation

The future arrived for the university athletics program with the completion of the Varsity Village.

The extensive renovation and upgrade of all of the university’s athletics facilities, and the construction of some new venues, positions the football sports programs to compete among the nation's best.

The term "village" aptly applies because the close proximal location and interconnection of the facilities provides ease of use and access to services for all of the sports teams and their student-athletes, similar to that of a small town.

The Baseball Stadium Sound system was designed and installed by ICB Audio and Video as part of the Varsity Village project, which centered around the new Athletics Building and the renovation of the Arena. ICB performed the audiovisual design build on all three phases of the project.

The baseball sound system comprised groupings of Community Loudspeakers driven from an amplifier rack located in the main building. Sound and video distribution was installed for the press and radio boxes and distributed sound was installed for the concourses and team rooms.

Varsity Village

Design and Installation Continued

The sound system work completed at 5/3 Arena included installing new processors, and an analysis of the sound system. Connectivity to the new Athletics center was made through cable TV distribution from the new head-end created in the arena, and a CAT6 AVLAN network that permitted sound and video distribution throughout the building.
