To The Applicant:

The College Club of Hartford offers a limited number of $1500 scholarships to qualified female

students who are seniors in high schools in Hartford County and have applied to accredited four-year

colleges or universities this year.

In awarding these scholarships, The College Club is primarily interested in academic achievement,

character, leadership, and financial need. Applicants must be in the top 10% of their class.

Applications will be reviewed and scored by the Scholarship Committee of The College Club. Finalists

will then be interviewed. Scholarship winners will be notified of their award

promptly after

Include TWO letters of reference, one from your guidance counselor or a teacher at school and a second from a qualified person who can attest to your character and extra-curricular activities.

PART IV TRANSCRIPT/STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES

Include a transcript of your school record through THE FIRST SEMESTER OF SENIOR YEAR. Be sure your SECOND QUARTER MARKS are included and your CLASS RANK. If available, please also include standardized test scores. PART V ESSAY (preferably 200-500 words)

Write a brief essay, on a separate page, telling us why college is important to you, describing how you spend your time outside school and relating, if possible, an experience that gave you satisfaction.
