AssaiDCMS has evolved for over a decade in these challenging sectors. The development of the system is driven by some of Europe’s leading information management experts in tande m with our programmers, many of whom have worked with the system since its launch in 1997.
AssaiDCMS harmonises the functionality required for two distinct philosophies: Document Control and Document Management. We believe this combination is essential in order to execute strict document control when required: whilst allowing for more flexible document handling that avoids bottlenecks.

Advanced Document Control Software
All too often, organisations squander huge sums of time and money trying to reconfigure content management software or attempt to bolt-on more and more functionality to their existing application suite and still fail to achieve a comprehensive solution that meets project and program document control requirements. These systems simply were not intended to support the needs of project based document control... like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
In contrast to other solutions in the market, the Assai Document Control and Management Solution (DCMS) was designed specifically to support project document control processes for both design and vendor documents and business critical correspondence. Document Control
AssaiDCMS is designed to support the most complex document distribution and control requirements using transmittals, email or web-based distribution. Dedicated screens help your document controllers to process a high number of documents efficiently. Web enabled commenting streamlines review cycles. Extensive reporting facilities and automatic late email generation give tight control on document status.
Reporting
AssaiDCMS offers all the required information to control the distribution process. This comprises of a comprehensive set of reports, producing a variety of document lists: lists of late and outstanding documents, per engineer, per external company, per area. Reports that follow the document through the distribution cycle, correspondence reports, technical query reports etc.
Workflow
The AssaiDCMS workflow module lets the user define dedicated workflows for pushing documents and correspondences through the organisation. In AssaiWEB users have direct access to their outstanding actions, they can easily add comments, make remarks or push the item on to the next person(s) in the workflow.

Collaboration
In AssaiWEB users can register comments on items and red-line documents.
Documents can be checked in or out and incorporated into workflows. Dedicated screens are available for easy commenting, copying comments from other users and pushing approved comments to document control for further distribution.
3D Interface
AssaiDCMS 3D Navigator is a graphical 3D-Interface. Users can fly over the asset, rotate, zoom in and zoom out, click on any part or asset to drill down to the next level, or open the documents, correspondence and technical queries related to that area.
Correspondence
AssaiDCMS correspondence module supports processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence. Correspondence can be forwarded on individual basis or made part of standard workflows. Extensive reporting ensures the control required to process correspondence on time.
Document Management
AssaiDCMS interfaces with third party document management system tools such as Livelink® and Documentum®. These interfaces can vary from loosely coupled to tight integration.
Change Management
For the operational phase AssaiDCMS has a dedicated control process for handing out document revisions to multiple contractors. Different contractors can work on the same document at the same time. The procedure is focused on a controlled issue and return of documents, ensuring that different contractors do not overwrite each other’s changes.
Technical Queries
A dedicated module ensures control on technical queries. The workflow module supports the processing of registered queries. The web-based publishing of technical queries and related answers improves the communication with third parties.
Planning and Progress
AssaiDCMS offers planning and progress on documents, document revisions, equipment, document packages and document milestones. Planning and progress information can be automatically exchanged with planning systems such as P3® and MS-Project®.
Asset Management
AssaiDCMS supports asset management and the definition of asset hierarchies and the relationships between system break downs, tag information and procured equipment.
