The Napa Valley College Library houses more than 50,000 books and 250 magazines. It is linked electronically to a regional library system offering ready access to more than one million books. Our top transfer schools are in close proximity – Sonoma State, Sacramento State, San Francisco State, CSU East Bay, UC Davis and UC Berkeley. Students also transfer to many independent and out-of-state institutions. HigHligHts
In addition to Viticulture and Winery Technology, voca-tional programs include Photography Technology, Welding, Machine Tool Technology and Digital Design Graphics Technology, among others. The Health Occupations Division includes ADN, Vocational Nursing, Psychiatric Technician, Respiratory Care, EMT and Paramedic programs.
A Human Services Program trains students for a variety of careers.
A Criminal Justice Training Center, which has been recog-nized with national awards, prepares students for careers in law enforcement.
A Hospitality and Tourism Management Program trains students for careers in the Napa Valley’s growing tourism and hospitality industry.

The mission of the Institute for Business Excellence is to provide relevant customized and fee-based training to Napa Valley businesses and organizations. The centers focus on Business and Entrepreneurship, Public Safety, Hospitality/Cu-linary/Wine, Health Care Training, Trade and Technologies, and Green and Alternative Technologies.
Building for the future
Thanks to community support in the form of passage of a bond measure in 2002, Napa Valley College was able to build new Performing Arts Center and Library Learning Resources Center, Auxiliary Gymnasium, Ceramics Building, Life Sci-ences Building, Solar Field, Central Chiller Plant, and Transit Stop and many renovations have been completed. Building 1500 is now the Administration Building. Building 1300 now houses many Student Services under one roof including the Transfer Center, Career Center and a new Welcome Center.

Need Help?
Stop at our new Welcome Center in the Admissions & Records lobby. The Counseling Office provides orientation sessions for all incoming students, online and in-person. Counselors assist and guide students in developing certificate, degree and transfer plans as well as meeting specific needs such as helping to reduce test anxiety. College study skills classes are available. Services are also offered for re-entry students returning to college after an absence.

Napa Valley College’s tree-lined campus sits on a 160-acre site overlooking the Napa River in the heart of the world famous Napa Valley wine-producing region. The college’s Viticulture and Winery Technology Program is centered in the Napa Valley Vintners’ Teaching Winery and Trefethen Family Viticulture Center on campus. Develop-ment Center to an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The Upper Valley Campus is located in St. Helena. A variety of classes are offered at off-campus locations throughout Napa County, including at Ameri-can Canyon High School. The college’s Community Education Center is near Napa High School. The Small Business Development Center is in downtown Napa.

Napa Valley College is solar powered! When constructed in 2006, the college’s 6.5-acre solar energy array was the fifth largest in the United States.
Institute for Business Excellence
The mission of the Institute for Business Excellence is to provide relevant customized and fee-based training to Napa Valley businesses and organizations. The centers focus on Business and Entrepreneurship, Public Safety, Hospitality/Cu-linary/Wine, Health Care Training, Trade and Technologies, and Green and Alternative Technologies.
Building for the future
Thanks to community support in the form of passage of a bond measure in 2002, Napa Valley College was able to build new Performing Arts Center and Library Learning Resources Center, Auxiliary Gymnasium, Ceramics Building, Life Sci-ences Building, Solar Field, Central Chiller Plant, and Transit Stop and many renovations have been completed. Building 1500 is now the Administration Building. Building 1300 now houses many Student Services under one roof including the Transfer Center, Career Center and a new Welcome Center.

Associate Degrees
Napa Valley College, a California Community College, offers Associate Degrees. A full-time student can earn the required 60 units in two years. Students, who may be working or have family responsibilities, can attend part-time and may take longer to complete the degree. The Associate of Arts degree is earned in general areas such as natural sciences, social sciences or humanities and is most often awarded to students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions. An Associate of Science degree is earned in occupational areas such as Health Occupations, Criminal Justice Training and various technical fields. This degree prepares students to enter the workforce or can also be preparation for transfer.
