PowerHouse Pilates™ was founded by Marci Clark and Christine Romani-Ruby in an effort to make Pilates education easily available for fitness and rehabilitation professionals. With more than 25 years of combined clinical and fitness experience, Christine and Marci bring a scientific and fitness perspective to the works of Joseph H. Pilates.

Their background in fitness and rehabilitation expands on Pilates’ original principles by creating variations and modifications that are suitable for the general population. Special attention is placed on proper alignment and appropriate exercise selection.

The PowerHouse Pilates™ curriculum is designed to meet the needs of both fitness and rehabilitation professionals. All instructors progress through the basic certification levels together, learning the principals of pilates and the specifics of exercise. After the base curriculum is completed fitness and rehabilitation professionals branch off into specialized courses for their discipline. (See our Course Matrix on page 7)

Registration & Course Information

PowerHouse Pilates offers two types of Pilates training to meet your needs. You can choose from Open Instructor or Closed Staff training. We also offer workshops and trainings at fitness and rehabilitation conferences.

Open Instructor Training

For this type of training your facility acts as the host site providing the space for PowerHouse Pilates to hold the training. Courses are held on Saturday and Sunday. As the host site you are responsible for promotion of the event in your immediate area. You will also be responsible for providing PowerHouse Pilates with directions to your facility and hotel recommendations. PowerHouse Pilates will promote your training date through e-mail announcements and direct mail. In addition, your training date is listed on our website course schedule and on catalog flyers at all major fitness and rehabilitation conferences. As a host site your facility will receive one free scholarship when the event is fully booked. There is no up-front money needed to become a host site. Participants register for the open instructor training directly through PowerHouse Pilates via our website, toll free line and mail address. We require at least three months notice to list your training in order to have dates available and to ensure adequate promotion of your event. There is no guarantee that the training will occur. If the minimum number of registrants is not received 14 days before the scheduled date, then training may be cancelled due to low registration. Minimum registration requirements may vary dependent upon the course type and site location.

Closed Staff Training

This training is held at your facility for your staff only. By choosing a closed training PowerHouse Pilates can tailor the curriculum to meet your program and staff needs. A closed training is scheduled at your convenience, as you pick the workshop date and time. Most workshops are held on Saturday and Sunday, however we can offer mid-week course dates dependent upon staff availability and travel accommodations. In order to secure a closed training date a travel deposit is required. After receiving this deposit PowerHouse Pilates will then assign an instructor and make all travel arrangements. Pricing for closed staff trainings is determined by the course selection, number of participants and is based upon a flat daily rate. We do ask for 30 days advance notice when booking a closed training.

We also offer open instructor workshops at our training sites located in Kona HI, Pittsburgh PA, Chester NJ, Sacremento CA, San Diego CA and Jacksonville FL. New sites are being added. Please refer to our website often for updated information.

Call us at 1-877-716-4879 for an updated certification schedule or visit our website at www.phpilates.com for a complete course listing and to register online.
