Our God Saves
In the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, In the name of the Spirit, Lord we come.
We're gather'd together to lift up Your name, To call on our Savior, to fall on Your grace. Hear the joyful sound of our offering,
As Your saints bow down, as Your people sing. We will rise with You, lifted on Your wings, And the world will see that —
Our God saves, our God saves; There is hope in Your name; Mourning turns to songs of praise; Our God saves ,our God saves.

Scripture Reading –
Matthew 3:1-6, 13-17
In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the
wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom
of heaven has come near.” This is he who was spoken of through the
prophet Isaiah:
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for Him.’”
John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt
around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. People went
out to him from Jerusalem and all
Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. Confessing their sins, they
were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by
John. But John tried to deter Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by
You, and do You come to me?”
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill
all righteousness.” Then John consented.
As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that
moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of
God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And a voice from
heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well
pleased.”

PRAISE THE FATHER, PRAISE THE SON
O sov'reign God, O matchless King,
The saints adore, the angels sing
And fall before the throne of grace;
To You belongs the highest praise.
These sufferings, this passing tide,
Under Your wings I will abide,
And ev'ry enemy shall flee;
You are my hope and victory.
Praise the Father, praise the Son,
Praise the Spirit, Three in One,
Clothed in power and in grace,
The name above all other names.
To the valley for my soul,
Thy great descent has made me whole.
Your word my heart has welcomed home,
Now peace like water ever flows.
Yours is the kingdom, Yours is the power,
Yours is the glory forever!
Yours is the kingdom, Yours is the power,
Yours is the glory forever!

THE LORD IS MY SALVATION
The grace of God has reached for me,
And pulled me from the raging sea.
And I am safe on this solid ground:
The Lord is my salvation.
I will not fear when darkness falls,
His strength will help me scale these walls.
I’ll see the dawn of the rising sun:
The Lord is my salvation.
Who is like the Lord our God?
Strong to save, faithful in love.
My debt is paid and the victory won:
The Lord is my salvation.
My hope is hidden in the Lord,
He flow’rs each promise of His Word.
When winter fades, I know spring will come:
The Lord is my salvation.
In times of waiting, times of need,
When I know loss, when I am weak.
I know His grace wil renew these days:
The Lord is my salvation.
And when I reach my final day,
He will not leave me in the grave.
But I will rise, He will call me home:
The Lord is my salvation.

Who is like the Lord our God?
Strong to save, faithful in love.
My debt is paid and the victory won:
The Lord is our salvation.
Glory be to God, the Father,
Glory be to God, the Son,
Glory be to God, the Spirit;
The Lord is our salvation.

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, Blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea.
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Which wert, and art, And evermore shalt be.
Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see.
Only Thou art holy; There is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, In love, and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, Blessed Trinity!

Praying together
The Calvary Body — We ask you to be in continual prayer for Calvary’s
Lead Pastor search. Pray that God would raise up a pastor and teacher who is committed to training and equipping the people of our church in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12) Pray that our congregation as a whole and you individually would eagerly seek to be trained and equipped to use our spiritual gifts and other abilities for the work of ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12)
Pray that this building up of the body of Christ at Calvary would result in our increasing unity in the faith, our increasing knowledge of the Son of God, and our increasing maturity in Christ. (Ephesians 4:13)

Ask God to help us see what He desires to teach us through all the chaos and disorientation of this pandemic. Ask Him to reveal through it what we have made idols out of in the church, and to bring us to repentance. Ask Him to reveal through it what changes He would have us make to embrace Christ’s mission for His church (Matthew 28:18-20).
Friends with health concerns — Please continue in prayer for:
Wendell Amstutz, John Fitz, Darrel Moe, Jerry Nau, Jordan Padgett, Tim Robeck, Eemou See, Caryl Thorn, and Ray Wiens.
Praying Scripture for our church leaders — We are praying for Garth Pederson, Leadership Board member, using Colossians 1:9 as a guide:
“Fill Garth with the knowledge of God’s will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.“
Praying for our missionaries — for Adam and Michelle Morgan
(ReachGlobal, Montreal): The Morgans and their two boys are coming home to Stewartville this coming week, leaving Montreal on February 23. Pray for a safe trip, good roads, and easy transition to life back in Minnesota. They plan to live here for a year while they raise new support, as many of their supporters have had to stop due to lost income because of covid. Pray for their ongoing ministry in Montreal which they will keep doing online as they have been doing for most of the past year.
