Dear Parents, Ministerial Visit

In our last newsletter I announced that our school has been selected to launch the State Governments Music in Schools Program which was to involve a visit from the

Honour-able James Merlino – Member for Monbulk, Deputy Premier and Education Minister.

The launch was postponed and at this stage I have not been given a new date. I will send further details about this as they come to hand.

Before and After School Care Program

Next term we will be starting a Before and After School Care Program with Camp Aus-tralia. A notice about the parent information and registration evening was sent home earlier this week

The parent information session will:

Help families understand how the program works Provide a chance to meet the staff from Camp Australia Find about how to registering for your child for the program.

Find out about what Benefits are available to assist with the meeting the costs of the program

Before school will be offered from 7 – 8:45am includes breakfast and is FREE After School will be offered from 3:15 – 6pm and will be user pays.

Please refer to the attached letter for additional information NAPLAN

NAPLAN results have come in and have been distributed to parents this week. NAPLAN is only one aspect of the assessment and reporting that we do in schools and is a point in time snap shot of a student’s performance. Please contact your child’s teacher if you wish to discuss your child’s individual results. In general, the schools relative gain has continued to strengthen each year for the past three years and this of course is very pleasing.

ILLNESS & ABSENCES

There has been a nasty flu virus going through the school. If your child is sick please keep them home, but please notify the school on 9366 2071 if they are going to be ab-sent from school.
