August 8 was our cutover date for the unveiling of the new ExLibris catalog interface known as PRIMO. More than two-thirds of all state colleges in Florida (22 of 28) are now providing the Primo software-based version of LINCCWeb to their students. The UCL librarians did extensive testing of the search results before recommend-ing the cutover. The change took place durrecommend-ing the extended break between the end of summer and start of the fall 2012 term.

Coffee Shop is still in the works as we await the opening of a Dunkin Do-nuts in the remodeled southwest corner of the first floor.
The doors to the FPL room on the exterior of the build-ing were replaced since
the old ones were deterio-rating from water damage. The bid was awarded for
the refurbishment of the elevator in LRC. Work to start in January 2013. The former microform room (160) has been
re-purposed as a quiet study area with the addition of some wet tables and dis-play cases for some of the museum collections. New “printer on” - provided

. . . I am reminded of a phrase on a poster I saw many years ago “We are living in a world of permanent change.” The irony of the oxymoron struck me at the time, but the reality of the sentiment resonates in me now.
Changes in libraries continue at breakneck speed. Our mission to provide access to information remains the same; how we do it changes. This year we enhanced our selection workflow so that our librarian selectors can do more electroni-cally, eliminating paperwork. As e-book options improve, we evaluate and opt for e-versions – for example, most of our reference titles are now ordered in “e”. We expanded our leisure collections to include DVD and audiobook titles – to rave reviews! We added a new scanner with state of the art touch interface. We virtualized in-house support applications for statistics, time clock, calendars, and “deep freeze”. We hired an adjunct librarian to work with online and internation-al students in their virtuinternation-al environments.
As a joint-use venture, we continue to adapt systems and access so that all students and faculty from the College and the University benefit from the vast resources and student-centered services we provide. — Jackie

If the newsletter is distributed internally, you might comment upon new procedures or improve-ments to the business. Sales fig-ures or earnings will show how your business is growing. Some newsletters include a col-umn that is updated every issue, for instance, an advice column, a book review, a letter from the president, or an editorial. You can
also profile new employees or top customers or vendors. This story can fit 100-150 words.
The subject matter that appears in newsletters is virtually end-less. You can include stories that focus on current technologies or innovations in your field. You may also want to note busi-ness or economic trends, or make predictions for your cus-tomers or clients.

Our 4nd Annual Literary Feast hosted
by the University/College Library was held in the new Visual Arts Building on the Central/Davie Campus on November 1, 2012.
The purpose of the event continues to be to provide an awareness of the talent and creativity of the profes-sors who teach at BC and FAU as well as to provide an opportunity for
students to interact and engage with professors as scholars out-side of the classroom.
Professors who participate are available in an informal setting to answer questions from students, staff, and faculty about their work. Every year this event grows: the 3rd annual drew 20 participants and 273 attendees

dents, staff and faculty who wish to learn the basics of APA Style.
Embedded Librarian: an Ethno botany class assignment gives the librarian the opportunity to foster critical thinking skills about the materials the students are required to use for their sources. RN to BSN Nursing: two 1-hour ses-sions a day with each cohort. The
first hour focuses on research; the se-cond covers APA style. English
-language learners: English language learners familiarize themselves with the library during at least two sessions for an introduction to the concept of aca-demic library in the United States and then for hands-on practice to search and find library resources
.
Faculty Librarians have developed several unique information literacy sessions:
SPN 1120 & 1121: unique because it is taught entirely in Spanish. Spanish resources such
