• Users can access to recorded image files via Client PC, if the “FTP Server “ function is activated.

• Recording can be triggered with an alarm , such as Sensor IN and camera side motion detection, by using “FTP Client” function *a.”

• Users can record still image and video into the storage media which was installed to camera, by using the “Local Storage (Image Memory) “ *b function .

• Image files (only still JPEG image) can be sent by e-mail using “SMTP” *c function.

*a) The “FTP Client “ function is a camera function that can be used via the camera setup menu. For details, please refer to “FTP Client Function Application Guide.”

*b) The “Local Storage (Image Memory) ” is a camera function that can be used via the camera setup menu. For details, please refer to “Local Storage Application Guide.”

*c) The “SMTP” function is a camera function that can be set via the camera setup menu. For the details, please refer to “SMTP Function Application Guide.”

3.1. User Access Rights

To use this function, set your authentication level to “administrator” unless otherwise noted.

3.2. Camera’s FTP Server Access Rights

To log in to the camera’s FTP server, make sure to select the “FTP” check box in the User menu for the

corresponding user.

The administrator can always log in to the camera’s FTP server.

Notes:

• (For SNC-CS10/CS11/DF40/DF70/P1/P5/RZ25) To log in to the camera’s FTP server, make sure to select the “FTP User” check box in the User menu for the corresponding user.

• (For SNC-CS3/RZ30/Z20)

To log in to the camera’s FTP server, user registration is required in addition to the camera’s user setting. For details on how to register, refer to the “4.1.2. User Setting” section.

3.3. Maximum number of connections

Up to five network cameras can be connected to the FTP server at a time.

Note:

With regard to SNC-CS3/RZ30/Z20, up to ten cameras can be connected.

In conjunction with the “FTP Client” function and “Local Storage” function, users can enjoy the following benefits:

1) Backup for recording server: When a recording server cannot retrieve and record video images, such as when the network or system fails, the local storage feature can be used to store video in the storage media.

2) Reduce the network load during business hours: If video images are stored only in the local storage media during business hours and retrieved from the media using a server or Client PC during off hours, network bandwidth can be used more efficiently.

Notes:

• The frame rate and operability on the main sviewerpage may decrease when the FTP server function is used.

• Deactivates the FTP server function before the memory card or other items inserted in the A-slot/B-slot are removed, or before the power of the camera is turned OFF with the memory card inserted.

Select when the CF memory card inserted in the A-slot contains fi les you want to download.

Select when the USB memory device inserted in the A-slot contains fi les you want to download.

CS50/RX530/RX550/RX570/RZ50:

Select when the ATA memory card inserted in the A-slot contains fi les you want to download.

b-slot

RX530/RX550/RX570:

Select when the Memory Stick inserted in the B-slot contains fi les you want to download.

DF80/DF85/RZ50:

Select when the CF memory card inserted in the B-slot contains fi les you want to download.

You can register up to 10 user names and passwords to allow login to the camera using the FTP client software of the computer.

Note:

User names and passwords can be set to between 4 and 16 characters.
