This process will continue for several more months.

The Partnership will launch its first social media contest. The new contest is called the “Downtown Domo Contest” and features a plush doll of a highly popular animated character called Domo Kun. The TMO is a proactive organization comprised of Partnership members, other employers, developers, property owners, transit authorities and local governments who work closely and collectively together to address local transportation-related issues and implement solutions by promoting and en-couraging the use of mobility management activities. Furthermore, it is a successful transportation program involving both the private and public sectors to improve the commute to and within the Downtown area, as well as educate businesses, workers and visitors about the various transportation options available.

This portion of the SSD program is primarily funded by the Florida Depart-ment of Transportation (FDOT) and matched by funds from Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa and the SSD's private sector. The SSD’s contri-bution effectively makes all downtown properties members of the Transpor-tation Management Organization (TMO) and therefore eligible to utilize TMO services.

 On August 26, 2010, the City of Tampa’s City Council unanimously

voted “yes” to extend the Special Services District for another year – through December 31, 2011. Prior to the public hearing, the Partner-ship held two community meetings and met individually with city council members to discuss the 2011 work plan and budget.  Planning ahead for the holidays, the Partnership is already

search-ing for a downtown location or restaurant to host the Guides’ and Clean Team’s annual holiday luncheon. Additionally, downtown com-panies or venues wanting to extend their gratitude for the teams’ hard work can donate toward a gift bag that each team member will receive at the luncheon. Contact the Partnership for more information.

 Rampello school representatives reported that the school began

the 2010/11 school year with approximately 800 students. There

continues to be a waiting list for some of the grade levels. Interested parents can contact the school or the Partnership for more information.
