(1) PLAN SCHEME:
There are five components under this scheme
(a) Subsidy on Modern Equipments
(b) Relief to families of the fishermen by PMSA and taken into custody by Pakistani Authority.
(c) subsidy for fiber glass boat .
(d) Subsidy on non mechanized boat .
(e) Subsidy for nets and cycle box to pagdiya fishermen:
To give warning to fishermen during cyclone and to keep contact with shore during the troubles in the sea while fishing and also to communicate from one boat to other, the modern communication equipments are essential for fishermen.
The subsidies are given at the following rates to the fishermen from
marine side on the purchase of modern equipments like GPS navigator with indicator fish finder, VHF Radio, life saving appliances. Sr. No . Modern Equipment Rate of subsidy

The subsidy is paid limited to Rs. 40000/- on the purchase of above all equipment.
(b) Relief to families of the fishermen by PMSA and taken into custody by Pakistani Authority:
Rs.50/- perday financial assistance is paid to family member of the fishermen captured by Pakistani Authorities .Scheme is sanctioned vide G.R. NO. NVB/132002/4184/T dated 27/8/2003 The scheme is only applicable to those fishermen from Gujarat who are apprehended after Dt.1-4-2003.
(c) subsidy for fiber glass boat,
50% subsidy or Rs. 12000/- on the purchase of fiber glass boat up to 7.0 meter and 1/3 amount of the boat or Rs. 20000/- for the fiber glass boat more than 7.0 meter whichever is less is sanctioned under this scheme.
The small fishermen do fishing in the shelf area marine water with the non mechanized boats up to 11.0 meter length. As the wooden boats are costly to give relief to small fishermen 50% subsidy or 20000/- which ever is less is given as a subsidy by the fisheries department
(e) Subsidy for nets and cycle box to pagdiya fishermen:
The pagdiya fishermen from Rajkot, Jamnagar, Surendranagar and Kutch district do not have boats or vehicles. They go for fishing on foot. To improve their life standard the subsidy on nets Rs.2000/- cycle Rs.2000/-Insulated box Rs.700/-and weigh Rs.300/- are given @ 90% of unit cost of Rs. 5000/-
(f) Special Economic Zone:
In Gujarat 50% of total fish production comes from the Veraval, Mangrol and Porbandar centres. If fish catch is processed under hygienic condition then export will increase and that will result into high price. For that purpose Rs. 100.00 lakh is proposed to establish Special Economic Zone near Veraval Coastal area of 250 hactar of land having infrastructural facilities of fish processing plant, cold storage and ice factory.

Subsidy on out boat motor
The scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme in which 50% share is from central government and 50 % share is from state government. The 50% amount of the OBM or Rs. 20,000/- whichever is less is given as subsidy to fishermen who fit the OBM in their boat.

Processing Preservation and Marketing
New item scheme for Processing Preservation and Marketing is implemented with a object of selling fish in hygienic condition to avail affordable price for it and to make it easily available to people in market.
Standard of subsidy is as under:

Subsidy limit for local bodies is as under; Rs. 20.00 lakh for Gram / Nagar Panchayat Rs. 50.00 lakh for Municipality
Rs. 100.00 lakh for Municipal Corporation.
(1) Reimbursement of Sales Tax subsidy on HSD Oil
The State Govt. is implementing This scheme from the year 2003-04 to provide Reimbursement of Sales Tax subsidy on HSD Oil used by mechanized fishing vessels below 20 meters length. The State Government has paid Rs. 53.82 crore as subsidy during the year 2005-06.and Rs. 25.00 crore in the year 2006-07, Budgeraty provision of Rs. 35.00 crore sanctioned in the year 2007-08 Revised provision is Rs. 118.61 crore for payment of previous pending subsidy bill of year 2005-06 and 2006-07.
Fishermen Development Rebate on HSD Oil.(Rs. 1.50 per liter) has been introduced from the year 2004-05 i.e. 100 % Centrally Sponsored Scheme under Marine Fisheries Development component Fishermen Development Rebate of Rs. 1.50 per liter on HSD Oil used by mechanized fishing vessels below 20 meters length and registered before the end of the Ninth Five Year Plan. The Govt. of India has sanctioned vide letter No. 33015-3-2007-FY(H) dtd 28-5-2007 in the year 2007-08. Gujarat State under this scheme In the year 2007-08 budgetary provision Rs.14.00 crores have been made. This amount will be paid to the fishermen as and when the amount is allotted to the central Government.
Revised policy implemented in year 2007-08 as 80:20 shared basis between central and state from 01-04-2007.
(3) Group Accident Insurance Scheme for active fishermen
The state Government is implementing 50 % Centrally Sponsored Scheme Group Accident Insurance Scheme for active fishermen of Co-operative Fisheries Societies of the state. Under this scheme Government provides insurance cover of Rs. 50,000/- against death or permanent total disability and Rs. 25,000/- for partial permanent disability. In all 80,000 fishermen have been covered under this scheme. The 100% premium @ Rs.14/ for the said scheme is borne by Government ( 50 % Central Government and 50 % State Government).
The Gujarat Govt. will pay its 50 % share (Rs. 5,60,000/-) for the year 2007-08 to FISHCOPFED through state implementing agency GFCCA in due course.
The scheme 2405 Fisheries, Development of Brackish Water Fisheries has been introduce in Amreli Dist., during the year 2007-08 .The said scheme is being implemented by the Assistant Director of Fisheries, Jafrabad, Dist. Amreli.
