There are 6 crucial elements that need to be in place if you want to successfully generate leads using video marketing. These 6 elements are:

1. A capture page (Based around your target market)

2. Decide on an idea (What your video is going to be about) 3. Perform keyword research (See if your topic is getting traffic) 4. Create content around that keyword

5. Perform on-video optimization

6. Perform off-video optimization (If needed)

In this cheat sheet, I will dive into depth on each element – identifying what you need to do to generate your first 15 leads. It is important that you implement each step if you want to generate leads using video

marketing.

Step 1 - Create Your Capture Page (Tick Once Completed Yes No )

A capture page is one of the most IMPORTANT elements when generating leads. A capture page in the online world is like a drop box in the offline world. It’s a place where people exchange their personal contact details for something of value that you’re offering. You need to set up a capture page that is in line with your target market – be consistent and transparent with what you have to offer. The main elements of a capture page consist of:

1. A pre-headline: This is a call out to your audience, letting them know that they’re in the right place.

2. Headline: This is where you state what your prospects will get - The big claim or promise. 3. Sub-headline: This is where you reiterate the promise of the headline. Do not make new claims

to support the headline.

4. The Button: This is where they click to get your big claim. If you are offering a cheat sheet, pdf report, guide or resource list embed the word “download” into the button as people like to download things and it looks enticing to the eye.

5. Contact form: Last but not least, the area where the prospects type in their contact details in exchange for your big claim.

A capture page is very simple to create if you can use the mouse and keyboard on your computer, you create a capture page. If you don’t know where to create your capture page, these are the three that I recommend: MLSP

Funnelizer, Lead Pages and Optimize Press.

If you want access to MLSP Funnelizer click here for more information

IMPORTANT! DO NOT MOVE FORWARD FROM THIS SECTION UNTIL YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR CAPTURE

Step 2 - Determine what you want your video to be about (Tick Once Completed: Yes No ) Once you have created your capture page (based around your target market) decide on what you want your video to be about. I recommend you typing out what you want to say in your video – bullet points are the best, as scripts aren’t natural and too rigid. It’s important that you be yourself and not someone else – your viewers like to see real people.

It is vitally important that you stay transparent from start to finish, don’t a make video about “how to lose weight in 30 days” and drive traffic to a capture page offering a downloadable pdf on “how to make money using Facebook marketing”. Stay congruent throughout the whole process and you won’t have trouble generating leads.

Step 3 - Keyword Research (Tick Once Completed: Yes No )

Now that you have decided on what you want your video to be about, do some keyword research. Make sure that your keyword is getting traffic aka searches. Use the Google Keyword Planner Tool to do your research. For beginners, make sure your search volume is around 10-300 searches per month to ensure that your competition is low. This will also give you a better chance of ranking your content to page 1 of YouTube –where most content is viewed. You can use another tool called The Keyword Shitter:

http://keywordshitter.com/ to find keyword ideas if you are struggling.

Step 4 - Create video (Tick Once Completed: Intro Content Call To Action )

(Your video needs to be congruent with your chosen keyword otherwise you will lose your audience). Three elements that need to be in your video are:

1. Introduction ending with a question: Always introduce yourself and give a point of reference like your city, country etc. For example “Hi my name is Peter Nguyen from Brisbane Australia, coming live to you from my home office. Are you struggling to create content? Create a hook that hits the pain point to your market.

2. Content: Give your audience usable content where they can apply it right away. Don’t be stingy on your content, the more value you provide the higher your conversion rate. Put yourself in your views chair and ask yourself this question, was that useable content? Did the content solve my problem? If you answered no then re-evaluate and find out where you can improve.

3. Call to action: A call to action is a MUST have in your video, especially if you want to generate leads. However, you main focus is to still to provide high valuable content. The purpose of a call to action is to direct your viewers on what to do next. I personally like to tell the viewers to “click the link below this video in the description – enter your personal details to get access to …..” Another option is to create a call to action at the end of your video in your video editing software.

Optimization

The purpose with optimizing your content is to help your content move up the search engines so that your viewers who are searching for your keyword can see your content. The higher you rank in the search engines the likelihood your content will get seen. There are 2 parts to optimization they are on-video and off-video optimization.

Step 5 - On-video optimizations (Tick Once Completed: Rename File Title Description ) Make sure you take your time and do this correctly as this will help you rank your videos in the search engines. A lot of people skimp this part and this is why they get partial results. This section – if done correctly can help you out rank your competitors. These are 3 important on-video optimization elements that you must do and they are:

1. Rename your file your keyword: Renaming the file with the keyword helps with your rankings in the search engine. It is important that you rename your video file name before you upload it to YouTube - once uploaded, it cannot be changed. If your keyword is “how to lose weight” then you will rename your file “how-to-lose-weight” along with your file extension. Next step is data

classification which requires you to add your chosen keyword into the title, subtitle and tag section of the video file. To do this (This is for window users, not sure how to do this for mac users) right click on the video file and select properties, click on the details tab and add your keywords as illustrated below. Once you have done that, upload your video to YouTube.

2. Create your title: It is very important that you have your chosen keyword in the title – ideally at the beginning if you are trying to rank your video in the search engines. Make sure you title is

captivating in that it create curiosity for the viewers to want to click and watch your video.

3. Optimize your description: Firstly, place your link at the beginning of your description so that it is easily clickable. This link would be your capture page or your website – a place where want your viewers to go. Your keyword density should be around 3-5% throughout your description and make sure that you don’t keyword stuff your description and titles - YouTube doesn’t like this and you can get your account shut down. Keep your description between 500-600 words – working your keyword throughout, if you intention is to rank your video.

Step 6 - Off-video optimization (Tick Once Completed: Pingfarm Fiverr Backlink )

If your keyword is very competitive I would recommend that you get some backlinks to your videos and this can be done at www.fiverr.com. Ultimately, you can pay someone to do the back linking for you. I would recommend that you outsource back linking as it will save you heaps of time and minimize errors. If your keyword has low competition, you might not need to do back linking. Another important thing to do is ping all your backlinks at www.pingfarm.com

When submitting your URL for back linking, make sure you submit the URL in the browser address bar not the short URL given by YouTube underneath the social sharing icons.

Use the social share buttons located under your YouTube video and share your video to any of the social media accounts that you have available. Sharing your video to any of these social media platforms is considered as a back link which will help with your rankings.
