The Big Picture - Why you need a large

volume of video content, & how to use it

Sometimes small business owners think "I'm going to make a video for my business and it's going to change everything!" But usually, one video is not enough to maximize your video strategy and grow your business. To really maximum your video strategy, you need a huge volume of videos you can use to

optimize your website, YouTube Channel, social media strategy, and email newsletter strategy. I know it's overwhelming, but I have a solution for you, so stay calm and stay tuned.

I personally experienced the power of having a large volume of videos when I did my Video SEO strategy on my own website. I dripped out my "1-Minute Video Marketing Tip of the Month" (you can sign up for my Tips here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE9F520AD39B3B75E ) videos on my website's blog every 3 days for about 2 or 3 months. During that time my website just kept moving up in google search results. Eventually I ended up on Google Page 1 for 3 of my most competitive keywords. This strategy really works!

Why? Because right now Google loves two things: Fresh, Consistent Content + Video. When you put these two magic ingredients together, you're going to get powerful search engine results.

And when you create this volume of videos, you can use them in so many effective ways. That's one of my favorite things about video: it's leverageable.

o You create one asset, but you can use it on many online platforms.

o You do the work once, and then it just keeps working for you, 24/7, with no ongoing effort from you.

This kind of leverage can help you make an exponential impact with your marketing. Here are some other ways you can use the dozens of videos you'll be creating:

o Blogging: we already talked about this above, and I'll go into more detail in the next few sections about how to use this video marketing strategy

o Social Media: You can post links to your YouTube videos on all your social media sites

(Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, etc). Often these sites will display a thumbnail image of your video, which makes it more likely to be clicked on than just a text update. I'll go over specific social media strategies in the sections below. (Pay special attention to my LinkedIn Strategy to put your profile in the top 5% of all LinkedIn Profiles.)

o Email Newsletter: If you produce, for instance, 24 1-minute videos, and you do a monthly newsletter, you'll have video content for 2 year's worth of email newsletters! When you put the word "1-Minute Video" in the Subject line of your email, you'll get a much higher open rate. People love to watch video, and everyone has at least 1 minute in their schedule.

o Include a link to one of your videos in your Email Signature. I personally got over 2,500 views on one video just by using this strategy. It's like passively promoting your video content every single time you send an email.

Keep reading for a plethora of even more ways to use your videos online to grow your business...

Whiteboard Videos-the magic of creating

videos without having to get on camera

You've seen Whiteboard Videos. It's when you see a hand drawing cartoon-like characters or text on a white background while you hear voiceover and playful music. (If you're still not sure what they are, check these out: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD0PqLJ1GXTS4oNPb6ivj9GTRIaucrfvS) Everyone loves these things! There's something about the moment of discovery when the viewer realizes what's being drawn that I think releases dopamine into their system. It's like the audience is drawn in to be part of the creative process, and that delights them and keeps them watching. That's what gives whiteboard videos an edge over other types of video when it comes to engagement. The audience can't get enough of watching the whiteboard drawings take shape in front of their eyes.

Another great thing about whiteboard videos is that you can create tons of video content without ever having to get on camera. If you're like most people, the thought of being in front of a video camera makes you a little nervous. There's definitely a time to conquer your fears, but if that time is not now, whiteboard videos could be just the ticket for you.

7 Step Strategy--Step by Step

Ok, we've talked about why you need a large volume of content, how to use it online, and the results you can get with these video marketing strategies. Now it's time to get into the nitty gritty.

Below you'll find all the resources and detailed processes you'll need to create your own series of 1-Minute Whiteboard Videos for your video marketing strategy.

In the information below, I am revealing all the secrets I use to produce my popular Whiteboard Video Package. With this package, my clients get 2 1-minute Whiteboard Videos each month for a low monthly rate. But I'm going to lift the veil and show you everything I do behind the scenes to create these videos, so you can do it too. So let's get started!

(7)

7

(619) 850-5835 Jill@JillAddison.com www.JillAddison.com

The first step is to create your videos. That is a multi-step process.

Step 1

:

Create Your Scripts

I always recommend that my clients focus on Frequently Asked Questions they get asked in their business. There are 4 reasons for this:

1. This positions you as an expert in your field (you know the answers to these questions)

2. It ensures that your content is valuable for your prospective clients 3. It ensures that your content is search-engine friendly (since these

are the questions people are asking and typing into search engines) 4. It's super easy content to create, since you already know these

answers like the back of your hand.

So you just brainstorm 24 FAQs and then answer each of those questions in 8-10 sentences, and those become your 1-minute video scripts. This will provide you with 24 1-minute videos you can use for months and months of marketing materials.

Step 2:

Record Your Voiceover

For this step, you can record your own voice, or hire a professional voiceover artist (We always use professional voiceover artists in our Whiteboard Video Package, since that makes the videos more engaging).

If you want to record your own voice, you can capture your recordings using editing software. I always use Premiere Pro (a professional grade editing suite), but you can use lower end consumer solutions like Camtasia (for PC) or

Screenflow (for Mac). There are free versions of these called Camstudio for PC or Quicktime for Mac.

If you want to hire a professional voiceover artist, you can find one at http://www.voices.com/ and http://store.voicetalentnow.com/

Having clean audio is very important to the quality of your videos, so don't skimp on this step. Invest in a professional microphone to capture great audio. I recommend the Yeti Blue microphone. You can buy that here:

(619) 850-5835 Jill@JillAddison.com www.JillAddison.com

Step 3:

Create your Whiteboard Animation

The easiest and most affordable approach is to invest in software that will enable you to create whiteboard videos using a clip art library. We use Sparkol/Video Scribe, which costs about $27/month for a license. You can also use Powtoons or Animoto. There's a bit of a learning curve with video editing, but if you have the time to play around with it, you can probably pick it up. But be warned, video production is extremely time consuming. You'll be amazed at how the hours fly by when you're editing video.

Step 4:

Create your Lower third with contact info and logo

The most important part of your video is your CTA (Call to Action). What do you want viewers to DO as a result of watching your video? (Hint: it should be the next step they need to take toward becoming your client/customer. It could be call you, email you, visit your Buy page, etc. Be sure to offer them a good benefit-driven reason to take this action. We recommend that you end each video with your call to action (ex: "Call us today at (999) 999-9999 for your free quote"). But don't wait for people to get to the end of your video to present them with a Call to Action. They might not watch your videos all the way to the end. Make sure they can respond to you at any time throughout the video by creating a "lower third" graphic that includes your email, website and logo. Then put that at the bottom of each video throughout the whole video. You can see examples of how we do this in our Whiteboard Video Package here:

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD0PqLJ1GXTS4oNPb6ivj9GTRIaucrfvS We use After Effects to create these lower thirds, but you can usually find templated lower thirds in whatever editing software you're using.

Step 5:

Add Royalty Free Music

You can secure royalty free music at sites like www.Audiojungle.com or

www.DigitalJuice.com for about $5 per music track. Be sure you use music you have the rights to. If you take music from CDs you own or from your iTunes, those are music tracks you do NOT have the rights to use. YouTube can often detect this and will ban your video. Avoid that hassle and make sure you only use royalty-free music.

Step 6:

Upload to YouTube and Optimize for Search

Watch this video for a quick tutorial on how to upload your video to YouTube: http://screencast.com/t/lbHfzF6i7Awp

(You'll notice I used a free software called "Jing" to create the video above. You can create screencast videos like this one, up to 5 minutes long, for free. Then Jing generates a handy link so you can share your video. This is a great way to use video to train your staff and assistants.)

Watch this video about how to optimize your video for search on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5m36LFcsQo

Step 7:

Promote your videos online

Schedule Blog Posts to your website with videos (Watch this YouTube tutorial:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyaxwsRisCQ&feature=youtu.be)  Schedule Social Media posts with video (Watch this YouTube tutorial:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CORB0bXy_2c&feature=youtu.be) (You'll notice the audio on the above 2 videos is way better than the audio on the YouTube Upload video here: http://screencast.com/t/lbHfzF6i7Awp. That's because with the 2 videos directly above, I used a high quality Yeti Blue

microphone. With the YouTube Upload video, I just used the microphone built into my laptop. There's a huge difference in sound quality, so listen to them both to hear the difference.)

o Upload the link to your video to your LinkedIn profile. You will stand out from the crowd when your LinkedIn profile has a video embedded in it. It's super simple: just click Profile, Edit Profile, then click on the box in the upper right of the Background box (the little blue box to the right of "Edit") until you see the dropdown that says "Add Link".

Then just copy and paste your YouTube link and voila, your LinkedIn Profile is instantly more personal and professional than 90% of your competition.  Schedule Email Newsletters with videos. I recommend that you grab a still

then use that as your thumbnail image). Then upload that image as a jpeg file to your email newsletter system (Constant Contact, Mailchimp, aWeber, etc) and place it in the body of your email text. Then make that thumbnail image a hyperlink to your YouTube video. Be sure and put the text below it that says "Click on the image above to watch this 1-Minute video."

 Include a link to one of your videos in your Email Signature. Be sure to put an engaging sentence before the link that will make people want to click on your video. Here's an example of my email signature:

Put your Video Marketing on Autopilot with a fast and easy series of monthly whiteboard videos we'll create for you.

Watch a sample whiteboard video here: http://jilladdison.com/get-monthly-videos-for-a-low-monthly-rate/

o Promote Your Video on your YouTube Channel:

To promote your video, I suggest sending an email with a link to one of your YouTube videos to friends, family, colleagues, customers, newsletter lists, etc, and asking them to consider taking the following actions:

o Comment on the video o Favorite the video o Share the video

o Embed the video on their own site or social media outlet

o Post this YouTube address as part of one of their status updates on their social media. I recommend giving them text so it makes it very easy for them to take action. For instance: "Check out my friend's new 1-minute

video. Very cool! (link to video)" (You can shorten this link for social media status updates by using a link shortener website like bit.ly or bud.url.)

All these things will help your search engine results and drive more traffic to your video online.

(11)

(619) 850-5835 Jill@JillAddison.com www.JillAddison.com

Whew! You made it to the end. Nice work on getting through all this content. Now comes the hard part: actually applying it.

To Do:

I recommend that you block out in your calendar a time in the next 2 weeks when you will start on this project. When you "batch" these activities (do them all at one time), you'll be much more efficient and save time in your workday.

Block out at least 4 hours to write your scripts.

Schedule about 4 hours to record and then edit all your voiceovers. Then you'll need about 3 days to create all your whiteboard animations.

Then another day or so to incorporate your lower thirds, royalty free music, export all your videos, upload them to YouTube and optimize them all for search.

* I'm being a little conservative with these timeframes, it will probably take longer than this. **This does not include time for securing all your equipment and software, and going through the learning curve on how to use it all.

At this point, you might be feeling a little deflated or overwhelmed. It seemed so great to get all your video marketing handled, but when it comes down to actually doing it, it's alot of work!

Here's something I'd like you to consider...

Like most things in your business, if it's not your core competency, if it's not the thing you love to do in your business and the thing that ONLY you can do, then the best way to get things like this done is to outsource it. Video production is extremely time consuming (you don't even know how time consuming), and when you're facing a steep learning curve trying to do it all yourself, that can result in a lot of frustration and wasted time and money.

So what I'd like you to consider is putting your video marketing on autopilot with my Whiteboard Video Package. With this Whiteboard Video Package, you'll get 2 1-minute whiteboard videos each month for a low monthly rate.

And you'll be sure to stay consistent with your video marketing, because we'll do it for you.

I've structured this package so you get a huge discount for buying in bulk. Since you're investing in the volume of videos you need to be effective, and you're getting 24 1-minute videos spread out over a year, you'll invest just $490 per

(12)

12

(619) 850-5835 Jill@JillAddison.com www.JillAddison.com

month to get your 2 1-minute whiteboard animated videos each month. That's less than $250 per video.

I think the big question you have to ask yourself is: "What is your time worth?" If you could free up hours and hours by outsourcing your video strategy, would your freedom be worth it? What kind of revenue-producing, life-giving activities could you devote yourself to with the time you'll save if you free yourself from the burden of learning a whole new skill set like video production? And let's be honest, how many of these videos will you really produce before you burn out and quit? There are just too many other things pulling for your attention. You are a busy person! So I hope you'll let us take the burden off you by putting your video marketing strategies on autopilot with this Whiteboard Video Package.
