THE KEY TO
EFFECTIVE COACHING
MASTERCLASS 1
DATE: 18TH FEBRUARY 2015
TIME: 9AM – 5PM
LOCATION: BLACKROCK
VENUE: UCD MICHAEL SMURFIT GRADUATE BUSINESS SCHOOL
ABOUT THE MASTERCLASS
Business coaching has gone from fad to fundamental. Leaders and organisations have come to understand how valuable it can be, and they’re adding “the ability to coach and develop others” to the ever-growing list of skills they require in all their managers. In theory, this means more employee development, more efficiently conducted. But in reality, few managers know how to make coaching work. What is coaching? How does it impact performance? And is what I am currently doing aligned to best practice so that I can maximise the impact my coaching has?
Join us on this one-day masterclass to discover what is at the core of coaching people, to learn key skills and models to help you leverage best practice as you coach, and through practice, obtain feedback on your coaching style and impact. Attendees will also experience first-hand the benefit of being coached.
The masterclass will be highly interactive with a strong focus on practice and experiential learning.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
• Understand what coaching is and how you can use it formally and informally
• Develop a structure to help you have consistently impactful coaching conversations
• Receive personal developmental feedback on your own coaching style, skills and impact
• Understand how to directly link coaching to performance improvement
• Design an action plan to help you practice and embed coaching into your role
• Understand how organisations are using coaching in terms of coaching conversations by managers, formal coaching by internal and external coaches, as well as the emerging areas of team coaching and coaching culture.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The masterclass is designed for individuals interested in entering the field of executive coaching, as well as executives seeking to become better managers and leaders. It is an ideal introduction for managers, leaders, HR people or consultants looking to either start using coaching or as a refresher to ensure your coaching style is leveraging best practice and ensuring a more consistent and impactful experience.
