(recertification is required every 3 years).

Provide in-depth pool management information needed to sit for the PA Department of Agriculture Pesticide Exams; a proctored core and category 24 exam is provided on the second day. Class is similar to the Recertification workshops, but participants are more likely to be first-time attendees.

Good educates, equips, and inspires PA citizens and parks and recreation providers alike, with an evolving toolkit of adaptable resources (logos, posters, bilingual rack card, Facebook graphics, website banner ads, case statements and more), and a statewide local parks map featuring more than 6,000 local parks. We work actively with the Governmental Affairs Committee, which includes many partners like the Growing Greener Coalition, to prioritize and address legislative issues. The Park Maintenance Institute is a statewide community of park maintenance professionals providing the latest, tools, techniques and strategies for efficient park maintenance to advance the capacity of public parks and recreation organizations. The Institute is an entity housed within PRPS, but its products and services serve a broader audience including Pennsylvania’s 2,560 municipalities as well as equipment suppliers, school districts, landscape architects and landscapers, environmental consultants and engineers, and more. Our initiatives involve training, education, research and advocacy for public parks and recreation organizations through the provision of practical and implementable services.
