begin to find enough time to market your practice? How do you implement and consistently manage your various marketing activities, while looking after clients and everything else you need to do to build your law firm?
You delegate.
Many attorneys feel the need to take control of all of their marketing efforts. But who says YOU, the attorney, has to do it all on your own? Why can’t you seek the support of others?
While there are some marketing activities that no one else can do but you, there are several other activities that you can delegate –to other attorneys in the firm, support staff or even to a legal marketing company/consultant that specializes in serving law firms.
This checklist was created to help you identify specific activities that you can delegate to another member of your firm, support staff or legal consultant. By having others assist you with these items, you can focus your energy on the items that must be done by YOU and require your attention.
The first step here is to identify the marketing strategies you will focus on to grow your practice. Once you have this confirmed, you can then identify activities that your staff can take care of and manage on your behalf.
Meet with your staff regularly and ask them to provide you with regular updates on the items they are managing so you know what is going on and can rest assured that things are getting done without you.
Note that this list includes just a small portion of the activities you can delegate. Start with some of these ideas and then add more items as it makes sense in your firm.
