A successful issue of the certificate depends on the results of background checks conducted by the signing Certificate Authority (GeoTrust™). We do not have any influence on those checks performed. [DE]SYSTEMS ENGINEERING Ltd. handles the necessary paper work and their checks for completeness. Upon your request we generate the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for you, and provide technical assistance for implementing your certificate as well. We are invoicing you and give you note in advance if your certificate is supposed to expire and remind you the upcoming extension. The client (YOU) is in charge to cooperate in full with us in the manner to provide all the required information and / or documents to undertake a smooth and successful check of yours and / or your business' trustworthiness. We totally agree: If this is your first time ordering an Extended Validation SSL Certificate it might appear
quite strange for you that a lot of information is required and you are requested to sign heaps of papers.
But: You do not order a regular SSL Certificate what only provides encrypted transfer of sensitive
information over the web site you maintain.
You order a special certificate what – if all the background checks have passed – in fact testifies you AND
the clients visiting your web site, that you and / or your business is NOT a fake entity rather a full existing,
fair trading, reliable and confident person / business.
After you have filled out and signed all documents:

We will check the documents you sent us. If something is missing or wrong, we will contact you and
discuss this with you.

We will then invoice you for the amount of the certificate and request you to pay within 10 working
days using either our client area or bank transfer.
NOTE: Online Payments made using our client area speed up the entire proceedure!

After confirmed payment your documents are passed to the Certificate Authority (CA, GeoTrust™)
•
Based on the information, documents forwarded, the CA performs the mentioned checks, verifies
your phone no with a test call.

We will request you to sign the Form „ExtendedSSL Certificate Request“ what is almost the last step
– this means you passed the checks.
Depending on your cooperation the entire process until you receive your EV SSL Certificate usually
takes only 5 – 10 working days.
A) What happens if the Certificate Authority declines to issue my certificate for some reason?
You'll get a full refund of the amount paid as long as you did not withheld any documents and or information
requested or declined your cooperation on the ongoing application.
If this is the case, we claim 10% compensation and we will refund 90% of the amount paid.
B) What happens if I have changed the nature of business or intent to do so?
Likely the CA will revoke your cetificate once taken to their attention if the new nature of your business is
completely different from the recent one.
Example: You successfully applied for an EV Certificate and the nature of your business was selling car
spare parts online.
Now you remove all your spare part offers from the site and start to trade with jewlery. This is indeed a
border case and depends on the decision of the CA.
Example: You successfully applied for an EV Certificate and you have changed your company name.
In this case may no longer use the certificate, it will definitely added to a Certificate Revocation List (CRL),
as the certificate issued is always bound to an entity e. g. person or company.
We strongly recommend to note us or the CA on any changes on your business nature, change of
company name, address change, change of phone no and other contact details.
C) What should I do if the private key is lost or got compromised?
In that serious case you might instantly run out of confidence if someone uses the key to conduct a crime.
As soon as you are aware of the loss of key or that the key was compromised contact us or the CA
immediately.
You have to apply for a new certificate and a new one has to be issued.
D) I either want to sell my business or the domain name the certificate was issued for.
As mentioned above, an EV SSL Certificate is bound to a particular business / person. A new certificate
must be issued and the old one will add to a CRL.
