Why is a Canadian credit history important?
A credit history provides an overview of your
payment history and how you handled debt
in the past with other financial institutions,
retailers and lenders. Many people use credit for
making large purchases, such as a house, car,
furniture or appliances. In order to get approved
for credit, you need a Canadian credit history.
The credit history you’ve built up in your home
country is not always applicable in Canada, so
that’s why it’s important to start building your
Canadian credit history early.
One of the best ways to establish a Canadian
credit history is with a Canadian credit card.
We’ve developed programs to help newcomers
get a Canadian credit card, often without the
need to provide a security deposit
4. It’s easy to
apply for a card. Simply take advantage of the
RBC Welcome to Canada package by visiting any
RBC branch today!
Do you need to send money back home?
With RBC International Remittance
®, you can
send money to over 120 countries worldwide
19without having to leave home, or you can bank
from any computer that has Internet access.
Using RBC Online Banking
20, you can send up to
$2,500
21per day directly from your RBC personal
banking account
22to the recipient’s account.
With the RBC Welcome to Canada package
enjoy a preferred rate on foreign exchange
transactions for 12 months.

9 RBC will waive the network access fee for the RBC VIP Banking account. An ATM
