Policy enhancemenTs
Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI)
Protects you from employment-related claims such as harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination, and more.
• Limits of liability are $50,000 per claim (including both defense and indemnity payments) with a $5,000 deductible. The yearly aggregate limit is also $50,000.
• TMLT is the first Texas medical malpractice carrier to include EPLI coverage at no charge. • Increased limits of up to $1 million are available for purchase.
Cyber Liability Insurance
Mitigates potential damages from cyber breaches and privacy-related claims. Annual aggre-gate limits of $50,000 per insured physician/entity.

• patient notification and credit monitoring costs; • data recovery costs;
• multimedia insurance (coverage for claims alleging copyright/trademark infringement, libel/slander, advertising injuries, and plagiarism);

Medefense
Covers up to $50,000 per incident and $100,000 per policy period subject to a $1,000 deduct-ible and 10% coinsurance payment for insured events. Deductdeduct-ible and coinsurance are waived if you use one of our approved attorneys.
Covered disciplinary proceedings include but not limited to:
• actions by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) alleging unprofessional conduct; • a professional review action regarding clinical privileges;
• Medicare billing audit conducted by Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC) or other private contractors, as well as allegations of non-compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations or procedures.
• Audits of individual physician’s or entity’s tax return. • Increased limits are available for purchase.
Premises Liability
• Limits of liability are $200,000 each occurrence/$200,000 aggregate.
• The endorsement provides limited coverage for claims, other than medical liability, from patients who suffer a qualifying injury or damage while visiting the physician’s office for care.

• Claims Made policies are available in limits ranging from $100,000/$300,000 through $1,000,000/$3,000,000.

Prior Acts Coverage
• Prior acts coverage, sometimes called “nose coverage,” covers incidents that occurred under a previous claims-made policy and which have not yet been reported.
Locum tenens
• A “locum” physician works in the place of the regular physician while he or she is absent. TMLT will cover a locum physician to work on your behalf for up to 21 days per year. • If you join TMLT, coverage for more than 21 days is available for purchase.
Moonlighting
• TMLT offers medical liability coverage for residents who moonlight outside their training program.
• Claims made policies are available in limits of $100,000/$300,000, $200,000/$600,000, and $500,000/$1,000,000.
• Tail premium will be waived if the moonlighting policy is converted to a standard TMLT policy.
Tail Coverage
TMLT offers free tail coverage to policyholders who meet the following requirements: • permanent retirement from medical practice;
• TMLT policyholder for five consecutive years; and • age 50 or above.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Discount
• You can earn a 3% discount (up to $1,000 per course) when you complete eligible 2.5-hour CME activities.
• Take up to two courses per year and receive up to a 6% discount. • Available courses include home study activities.
• We currently offer 22 online courses, including video CME.
On-Site Risk Management Practice Review Discount
Physicians who complete a practice review may be eligible for a 5% premium discount after review recommendations are met. This discount continues through the expiration of the current policy plus an additional two full policy periods.
The practice review is designed to assist you in determining your risk exposures. A risk management professional visits your office to:
• evaluate medical record documentation; • review practice policies and procedures;
• tour the facility to evaluate patient safety processes; and • provide feedback with a confidential, written summary.
Physicians who complete the review process can also earn 1 hour of ethics AMA PRA
Category CME Credit™.
Experience Discount
We offer automatic premium discounts to policyholders with favorable claim experience. Discounts range from 3% to 20% based on the number of years the physician has been insured with TMLT.
Network Discounts
We offer an up-front discount for new policyholders who are members of a TMLT-approved network. Discounts are negotiated based on growth and loss ratio of the network.
