“Today's first and second readings tie right into our theme of Fully Alive as Mis- sionary Disciples, suggesting that we live our lives with "wisdom" and

"prudence," and that we avoid "foolishness." The Gospel of John then tells us that once we clear out the foolishness, we have plenty of room for Jesus Christ,

"...the living bread that came down from heaven..." When we reflect on this in light of our own baptism into discipleship, there is really no question about it. Why would we want to live a life that was full of "foolishness" rather than a life filled with the bread of life?? We must work to keep this in mind each day as we go about our business and make decisions, big and small. Pray that the Holy Spirit will open our hearts and guide us toward that which allows us to live life abundantly! ”-Office of Stewardship, Catholic Diocese of Wichita

Workshop for Catechists & Parents, Sept 8

Dr. Tim Hogan will share how catechists and parents are often confronted with children in novel forms of emotional distress that challenge previously effective psychological and religious approaches. A key solution to these difficul- ties, as Pope Francis has repeatedly reminded us, is the recognition of marriage and family as the foundation upon which we build loving and missionary parish communities.

Saturday, Sept 8, 9-Noon, Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School, 8506 E. Central. Cost is free. Register: http://bit.ly/
