Faculty of Business and Economics

Th e Faculty of Business and Economics (Faculty I) off ers eight Bachelor programmes which usually combine a focus on business and economics with a wider integrative and interdisciplinary perspective. Th e inclusion of gender studies and environmental and sustainability issues are also important features of some of the programmes. Whilst all programmes have certain international components three of the programmes are entirely international either in the form of a bi-national dual degree course or by being taught in English and by including compulsory study abroad periods. Th e Master-of-Arts programmes of the faculty are run in English or in English and French and share all a distinctly international outlook.

Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes

Th e Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes (Faculty II) off ers a total of 15 sector-oriented bachelor programmes with business and technical specialisations. Th e unique feature of these programmes is the combination of theory- based teaching phases and on the job-training phases. Th e programmes are run in close co-operation with 480 partner companies which are also involved in programme develop- ment. Aft er three years of studies the students obtain their Bachelor‘s degree and are usually off ered a position by their respective training company.

The Berlin School of Economics (BSE)

is Germany‘s largest state funded university specialised in the fi eld of business, management and economics.

off ers an extensive range of well-established study pro- grammes at undergraduate and post-graduate level.

prepares its students for successful careers through high quality programmes with an orientation towards business or administrative practice and various forms of co-operation with the German business community.

profi ts from the knowledge and management experi- ence of its 130 full-time professors (all with PHD or equ.

doctorates) and more than 400 lecturers.

has about 5,100 students (4800 in full-time and 300 in part-time programmes) and 1,100 graduates every year.

keeps in touch with its graduates who work worldwide in leading major and mid-sized companies as well as in the non-profi t or public sectors.

off ers a variety of international programmes and encour- ages the internationalisation of its students through its more than 70 partnerships with universities through- out the world.

IMB Institute of Management Berlin

Th e Berlin School of Economics was among the fi rst business schools in Germany to off er MBA-programmes through its Institute of Management Berlin and can look back on 15 years of experience in this fi eld. Th e fi ve accred- ited MBA programmes of the IMB aim to prepare gradu- ates – with various foci – for leading positions in general management of businesses or in the healthcare sector. Th e IMB off ers also three M.A. programmes and one certifi cate programme.

Study in Berlin

As the capital of Germany with a multitude of federal insti- tutions, diplomatic permanent missions and international organisations, Berlin is the location for signifi cant political and economic developments in Germany and Europe.

With its 16 universities, 3 operas, 50 theatres, 300 libraries and about 100 museums, Berlin is also Germany´s leading scientifi c and cultural metropolis.

Th e Berlin School of Economics has two campus sites, each in a central location and easily accessible by public trans- port. Th e positive atmosphere of a school of manageable size is perfectly joined by a wide variety of service off erings and its central location.

Th e Student Service (Studentenwerk Berlin) provides rooms for more than 10.000 foreign students in its residential accommodations. Furthermore, Berlin off ers a wide range of other housing possibilities at very reasonable prices.
