ViP benefits – techy stuff!
Hosted ViP connected site-to-site calls are zero-rated providing free calls across the entire Hosted ViP connected estate. Any calls that are required to break out onto the PSTN network will be covered by aggressive IP rates rather than standard PSTN call rates. Hosted ViP is runs over Gamma’s (the network service provider) industry leading “Horizon” software.
Disaster recovery
Hosted ViP has a number of DR (disaster recovery) solutions, from platform level to the end-user. At a platform level, Hosted ViP is a cloud based solution that has externally located platforms based in a fully resilient format in two geographical separated Gamma provider owned data-centres and on a fully owned and operated carrier grade network. Each of these data-centres are monitored, managed and supported by a large internal network operations centre team 24/7/365. All of the infrastructure technology is based on a ‘N+1’ solution, meaning everything is replicated to ensure seamless system failover. The platforms themselves, are fully managed and therefore maintained and constantly upgraded at no additional charge to you, you will therefore always have the latest technology, features and functions available.
Put simply, the infrastructure Hosted ViP is based on is as advanced, resilient and reliable as you can get. From a site perspective, below are a number of features and functions can be utilised for disaster recovery:
Number unreachable – if your Hosted ViP system cannot forward a call to it’s destination due to a site power
outage, access issue etc. then it will automatically forward to a predefined destination. This could be a user’s mobile, another site, a voicemail box, an auto-attendant with additional call routing options.
Twinning – all users have access to twinning, or simultaneous inbound calling. This enables the user to specify a

Hunt group forwarding – if a hunt group is not answered within a user predefined time, then a call forward
number can be added, this could be to another hunt group, site or to voicemail which includes a voicemail to email solution.
Voice portal – all users parameters can be changed from the voice portal which can be accessed from any device.
A user could therefore activate or deactivate their call forwarding remotely or change an auto-attendant message.
Horizon web-interface – both administrative and end-user moves, adds and changes for all features and functions
are accessed by a centrally driven, internet portal. This can be accessed by any internet accessible device e.g. iPad, smartphone or laptop all through a simple login.
Scheduling - time of day routing available on hunt groups and auto-attendants.
Smartphone app
Hosted ViP has a smartphone app that comes with the softphone client bolt-on, that will enable your users to dial out over your hosted telephone system from wherever they are (as long a they can get a secure data signal). This means your users can utilise the bundled free minutes and present the office phone number, even when they are out on the road.

ViP vs other hosted offerings
Hosted ViP is the solution of choice compared to other hosted offerings. Why? Prove it.
Other Hosted/VOIP solutions are available, but many of these use an existing broadband connection to route voice traffic as well as internet (and other data) traffic.
So what, I hear you say?
When voice traffic and data traffic are both routed over a single connection (that is not properly managed), each is competing for bandwidth.
This results in appalling call quality as bandwidth demands increase.
The end result is an unusable solution – your Hosted phone solution should always have perfectly clear call quality.
Hosted ViP is based on a technology called ‘Assured Connectivity’. Put simply this is a broadband line that’s sole purpose is to route voice traffic over. The key reasons why is it superior to a ‘standard’ broadband line is the technology comes with an SLA on faults and assurance on jitter and packet loss (Qos).
ViP vs other hosted offerings
Lets imagine a scenario whereby a competitors Hosted/VOIP solution routing calls over an un-managed connection was to go down with no SLA on faults?
What would happen. I can tell you.
No phone calls. No internet. A lengthy wait (days to weeks) waiting for your ISP to fix the connection.
How would that affect your business?
Is it wise to route both your voice AND data traffic over a single un-assured connection? Put simply, no.
So, although you may see super cheap pricing for other hosted “solutions”, the resulting service is not fit for a business critical service of which your telephony system deserves. Other hosted “solutions” are in fact only offering you half a solution!
Hosted ViP as standard includes a dedicated Assured DSL connected locked down for your voice traffic only. Each connection ViP is based on the bandwidth requirement for your total amount of users; the more users the increasing bandwidth you receive.

Can other hosted solutions offer you a Smartphone app allowing you to make calls from your phone over your hosted solution from anywhere? Can they offer you free bundled landline and mobile? No.
ViP vs traditional System
Hosted ViP is also the solution of choice compared to a traditional system. Why?
The advantages of our Hosted ViP solution over a traditional system can be summarized as no Cap Ex, no maintenance, free geographical numbers and free inclusive calls.
No Cap Ex – a traditional system would cost you £k’s in upfront equipment costs or hefty lease payments, whereby at the end of term, you either don’t own the hardware or it has now become obsolete. ViP has no
upfront costs and you will always have the most up-to-date telephone solution available.
No maintenance – a traditional system uses hardware. Hardware breaks and become out of date. You need maintenance costs to keep it running. ViP simply has no maintenance cost.
Free geographic numbers – with a traditional system you would have to pay for the installation and monthly rental of a new phone line to get a new geographic number. This is arduous and costly. Hosted ViP allows you add as many new geographic number as you require, free of charge.
Free inclusive calls – No traditional system offers free minutes to UK mobile and UK landlines as standard. Hosted ViP does. Depending on the product level you decide on you can get up to 1,500 free UK mobile and 1,500 free UK landlines per user, per month. So with 30 users you could have 45,000 free UK mobile and 45,000 free UK landline minutes per month for your business!
