Subject: Selection of Assistant Director Fire & Emergency Services in Fire & Emergency Department.

Notification No. 02 – PSC (DR-S) OF 2021

Dated: 04.01.2021

Whereas, the Home Department vide their letter No. Home/F&ES/64/2017 dated 21.09.2017, referred 08 posts (OM:04, RBA:02, SC:01 & ST:01) of Assistant Director, Fire & Emergency Services for being filled up through a written test; and

Whereas, the J&K Public Service Commission advertised these posts vide Notification No.12-PSC (DR-P) of 2017 dated 27.11.2017. The last date for receipt of applications i.e cut-off date was 30.12.2017. In all, 926 applications were received. In pursuance of Rule 40 of J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 read with SRO 438 dated 11.12.2015, a written test was conducted on 09.03.2019 at centres viz. Srinagar and Jammu, in which 452 candidates appeared; and

Whereas, the result of the written test was declared on 18.03.2019 vide Notification No. PSC/Exam/24/2019 in pursuance of Rule 40(ii) of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 and SRO 438 of 11.12.2015 and accordingly 40 applicants (candidates) were declared to have qualified for Physical Fitness Test/interview. The cut off category wise is 43.00, 32.50, 36.00 & 30.00 for OM, RBA, SC & ST respectively.

Whereas, the interviews were conducted w.e.f. 02.12.2020 to 04.12.2020 and on 21.12.2020 at Jammu. During the course of verification before commencement of the interview process, 02 candidates namely Mr. Stanzin Idong (B.D.No.17) under ST category and Mr. Rahul Garhotra (B.D.No.40) under Open Merit were found ineligible on the ground that they do not qualify the prescribed Physical Standard of 5’-6” height as per Recruitment rules. After rejecting the candidature of said candidates, 02 more candidates next in order of merit, one each under OM and ST category namely Mr. Anshuman Dubey (1200636) and Mohd Anwar (1200749) respectively were called for interview. The interview of these two candidates was held on 21.12.2020.

The Aggregate Merit of the 40 candidates who appeared in the interview is annexed as “Annexure-A” to this notification.

Note 1: The list is subject to further verification of original documents/testimonials.

Note 2: The list is subject to the outcome of writ petition pending before any competent Court of jurisdiction.
