ERI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Since our establishment in 1990, Environmental Resolutions, Inc. (ERI) has provided exceptional engineering, environmental, and land use planning services to the private and local government sector throughout the State of New Jersey. Our firm provides vital services such as Civil Engineering and Roadway Design, Construction Management and Inspection, Recreation and Parks Design, Landscape Architecture, Land Use Planning and Redevelopment, Bridge Inspection, Traffic Engineering, Dam Safety Inspection, and Demolition and Asbestos Management. We also perform services such as Storm Water Management, Water and Wastewater Engineering, and Solid Waste Management. In addition, we have Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) on staff who perform all aspects of environmental remediation services.

ERI is pleased to offer a $2,000 scholarship to one deserving Rowan University undergraduate student. The ERI Scholarship program was initiated to recognize exceptional Rowan students who, at a minimum, have completed their second year in one (1) of the following academic disciplines: Civil & Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography/Community & Environmental Planning, GIS, or Construction Management.

Our scholarship will be awarded in July 2021.

Purpose:

The purpose of the ERI Scholarship is to recognize exceptional students at Rowan University who are studying in academic majors that are consistent with ERI's mission of providing excellent engineering, environmental and land use planning services.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the ERI Scholarship, applicants must currently be enrolled full time at Rowan University in the fall semester 2021, and meet the following requirements:

• Major declared in one of the following academic disciplines:

o Civil & Environmental Engineering o Environmental Science

o Geology

o Geography/Community & Environmental Planning o GIS

o Construction Management

• Reside/Have a permanent address in one of the following NJ Counties:

o Atlantic o Burlington o Camden o Cape May o Cumberland o Gloucester

o Mercer o Monmouth o Ocean o Passaic o Salem o Somerset

• Must provide proof of permanent address in form of valid government-issued identification.

• Must, at a minimum, have completed their second year in one (1) of the academic disciplines listed above.

• Obtained a minimum 3.0 GPA.

• Has not previously interned or worked for ERI or is not directly related to any current or past ERI staff member.

• Be of good character and have no criminal record.

• Conducted Community Service and/or participated in Extracurricular Activities while attending college.

• Be recognized by at least one (1) of their professors for their academic success.

Applications must include:

• Completed Application Form.

• Completed Essay Template Form explaining why the applicant chose his/her major, what career he/she plans on pursuing and what goals he/she expects to attain.

• Official or non-official college transcript (must be inclusive of the Spring 2021 semester).

• Proof of permanent address (government-issued ID such as passport, driver’s license, or voter ID).

• At least one (1) signed recommendation letter from a professor in the student's academic major.

Selection:

• Selection is based on the application and essay submitted by the student, stated interest in their field, academic performance, community service/extracurricular activities, positive character, and recommendation letter(s).

• All submitted applications will be reviewed by the ERI Scholarship Committee for recommendation to the firm’s principals for final decision and award.

• The ERI Scholarship Committee reserves the right to recommend that no award be made in a particular year if no meritorious applications are received.

Award:

• (One) $2,000 scholarship will be awarded.

• Recipients will be notified of selection by email by July 30, 2021. A formal award letter will follow via USMail.

• Recipient name and photo will be incorporated into ERI’s social media announcement of the award. The scholarship winner agrees to come to the ERI office in Mt. Laurel for a public relations photo.

• Award funds will be deposited to the recipient's account and will be applied (in full) to their tuition through the Rowan University Bursar’s office. The scholarship is to be used for tuition and will be disbursed for the 2021 fall semester.

Disqualification: All application requirements must be fulfilled. Incomplete or illegible applications will not be considered. All applications must be signed.

No faxed applications will be accepted.

Recommendation Letters:

• Letter(s) must be on Rowan University/Department letterhead and include professor name, contact information, and name of scholarship applicant.

• Letter(s) can be mailed directly to ERI at the address listed above or can be emailed to [email protected] in PDF format with “Scholarship Committee” and applicant’s name in the subject line.

• Letter(s) must be received by 5:00 PM on July 2, 2021.
