 The Operating System installed on the workstation should be listed in Minimum Operating Requirements (Page 4).

 A workstation connected to the Internet via a MITA Internet connection or another Internet Service Provider.

 Reboot the workstation, if another software installation was performed prior to the MITA VPN Client installation.

 Ensure that Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Service is disabled in Windows Vista and Windows 7. Refer to Disabling the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Service section (Page 13) at the end of the document, if necessary.

 Administrator privileges on the workstation are obligatory.

 Security token (hardware or software –based) supplied by MITA.

A clean (fresh) installation of MITA VPN Client software is required if upgrading from Windows XP to Windows Vista or Windows 7. This is done by manually uninstalling any old VPN Software first, then after the upgrade, reinstall the VPN software as indicated in Installation of the MITA VPN Client

Software Section.

!

Once connected to the VPN, the access granted over the Internet is identical to the access granted from the Government Internet. Therefore services such as MSN Messenger will not connect.
