At WorldPoint, we are choosing to get better!

I’m reaching out to you with some exciting news about

WorldPoint! Over the past year, our team has connected

with members of the training center community across

the country. We have asked what’s important to them

in a healthcare product distributor, what they value most

in their working relationships, and what they need to

successfully train more people to save lives. We have

also reached out to our partners, including the American

Heart Association, to find out what they are planning as

the release of the 2015 guidelines quickly approaches.

These steps have resulted in us being fully engaged

with our customers and our manufacturers… leading to

something very exciting!

In the next few months, WorldPoint will launch our new

brand and website. As a distributor uniquely focused

on the AHA training center market, our team is deeply

connected across the industry. Our new tagline: at the

heart of your training means WorldPoint is a destination,

the place you come to for American Heart Association

materials, training products, industry information and

truly memorable customer service! We learned that

an important part of that service is an online buying

experience that is simple. WorldPoint.com will offer

an extraordinary experience; one that is clear, intuitive

and engaging. Designed to quickly share items you are

looking for, highlight ideas to enhance training and help

you find the information you need, our new website is

sure to improve your buying experience. Look for an

email in the 4th quarter celebrating the launch of the

new WorldPoint.com.

At WorldPoint, we recognize that we are a part of a

special and unique industry, one committed to training

people to save lives. We support all of the American

Heart Association programs and initiatives to build

healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

We also believe increasing the number of people trained

in quality CPR will improve the survival rate from cardiac

arrest. Part of launching our new brand includes living

it. Did you know that WorldPoint:

• Ensures that all employees are certified in CPR and

how to use an AED

• Provides a work environment that offers healthy

eating choices and time for wellness

• Volunteers, on boards and in our communities, to

spread the word about prevention

We also live our brand with our three hallmarks of service;

same day shipping, complete shipments and excellent

customer service. As our brand promise states, we will

connect you with the American Heart Association training

materials and products you need, and the passionate

knowledgeable support you deserve.

Despite all of our enthusiasm, we realize that a great brand

is earned over time. We look forward to finding our place

at the heart of your training.

John Meiners, Executive Vice President of Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Programs and Global Strategies for the American Heart Association, and John Amato during a WorldPoint visit in Dallas July 2015.

They say timing is everything. In June 2014, not

only was timing everything, it was the very thing

that saved Rob Bowne’s life. While on duty, Rob, a

27-year veteran of the Winnetka Fire Department,

was working out and started experiencing chest pains.

His colleagues on duty felt it was probably muscle

related but decided it was best they hook him up to

an EKG monitor. After analyzing the results, they

did not see anything abnormal or concerning. Despite

encouragement from the other men, Rob did not feel

it was necessary to go to the hospital.

Rob decided to stop his workout and take a shower,

but his discomfort continued. The paramedics

decided to hook him up for the second time and

immediately confirmed Rob was having a heart attack.

They quickly sprung into action, without any delay

transporting him to Evanston Hospital. The guys on

duty remembered that while on the ambulance they

drove there in silence, scared of what might happen.

No one knew what to say or think at this point.

Once they arrived at the hospital, Rob was taken

to the catheterization lab where the inclusion was

removed and the pain subsided immediately. Rob has

often thought about the other places he could have

been when he had his heart attack. If he had been

anywhere else, would he have called 911? Would he

have gone to the Emergency Room? Would he have

gone to Urgent Care? Would the outcome have been

the same?

Rob was lucky; lucky he was on duty at the firehouse

when his heart attack occurred. Rob’s cardiologist,

Dr. Jason Robin credits the quick intervention of Rob’s

colleagues with his strong recovery. “Rob’s quick

treatment was a factor in how healthy his heart looks

today,“ noted Dr. Robin. Rob states “I owe my life

to my teammates. If it wasn’t for them reacting so

quickly and being there for me from beginning to end,

I do not know where I would be today”.

Since having his heart attack, Rob has continued to

work out both at the firehouse and at home. One

thing that did change? His eating habits. “You need

to change, otherwise you’ll have the same thing

happen to you again.” Rob said.

Rob has been able to

get back to his normal

lifestyle. One of his

favorite parts is being

with his family and

watching his daughter

play sports.

“I feel very fortunate,”

Rob said.

To learn more about Rob’s story and see the full

impact of the lifelong friendship he developed while

in the hospital, be sure to visit our website,
