EDUCATIONAL APPROVAL BOARD ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS REPORT

March 8 through June 4, 2013

This report describes the activities that EAB staff performed in response to the board’s oversight role under s.38.50, Wis. Stats.

SCHOOL ACTIONS A. New School Approval:

American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) (Online), Portland, OR

Founded in New Zealand in 1978 and launched in the United States in 1989, ACHS became the first accredited institution to offer complete online holistic health education through certificate, diploma, associate’s and master's degree programs. Since 2003, the ACHS campus in Portland, OR has been accredited by the Distance Education Training Council (DETC).

New England College of Business and Finance (NECB)(Online), Boston, MA

Founded in 1909, NECB served the highly specialized educational needs of the banking and financial services industries. In the past decade, NECB evolved into a student-centered, graduate degree granting institution delivering high-quality, online programs in business, finance, forensic accounting, business ethics, and compliance.

Park View Pilates, Whitefish Bay, WI

Licensed by The Pilates Center of Boulder Colorado, Park View Pilates is able to offer one of the most respected, comprehensive, and intensive "classical" Pilates teacher training programs in the world. Park View Pilates strives to increase the quality of Pilates teachers by providing intensive instruction in the "art of teaching" the Pilates method.

Serenity Now School of Massage (SNSM), Wausau, WI

SNSM uses a "project-based" learning philosophy which provides students with active learning opportunities based on questions and problems to which students must problem solve, investigate, make decisions, and reflect on their learning. In this learning approach, the student is an active learner and owns her/his success.
